No, if I want my carbohydrates from other than the Font of Redenbacher, I stagger blindly toward "it's a small world" for the immensely satisfying and immesurably more interesting cream cheese-filled pretzel. Mmm...pretzels.

Getting back to DlandDug's picture from post #79, click on it to get the enlarged version, and study the bottom portion carefully. There is a "side by side" comparison (over and under more like it) of the colored elevation of the Mark VII over a line drawing elevation of the current Mark V. Although some features are similar (they are both monorails, afterall), the overall looks are quite different. The Mark VII's nose is longer and rounded, and it hangs out forward over the rail further then the Mark V's, allowing for more of the curved glass to happen along the sides. The side color band on the Mark V's runs the length of the train just underneath the windows... on the Mark VII, it drops down much lower and runs along the side fins, and there is a band of white between the bottom of the windows and the color band. And is it just me, or is this an optical illusion or what, but... does it appear to anyone else the the current Mark V is actually TALLER than the Mark VII?? Sure seems so from this comparison picture, assuming both versions are represented at the same scale. All in all, I still stand by my original assertion that the new monorail Mark VII looks like a big earthworm.

Look at the two elevations again, and you'll see that the passenger compartment areas are virtually identical in shape and size. IMO all it looks like their doing is grafting a new nosecone on, and adding brightwork to the sides (I'll be interested to see if it's merely all paint, or if the band running over the top of the nose and beneath the windows is a metallic strip.)

But I can't and I won't. The Most Holy Churro is a little piece of heaven on earth. Popcorn is Satan's snackfood and is popped in the bowels of hell.

And speaking of "can't tell" stories, I once fixed the dish machine in Carnation Main Street and what I found inside (i.e., the problem) should not be discussed in polite company. (Actually, it was more of a "how in earth?" than an "ewwww!", but still . . . . )

But that's not to say that the two versions look just like each other.

But please, look again at the comparisons... the windows, while similar, are definately different. And if you need me to take the time to definitively point out the differences, I will. But I think y'all can see for yourself if you look closely enough.

Originally Posted By Hans Reinhardt "But please, look again at the comparisons... the windows, while similar, are definately different." ArchtMig, I think the point is that there isn't enough of a difference in the design of the new trains to really distinguish them from the previous ones. Yes, the colors are a big difference and there a few other details, but I think the overall visual impact of the new trains on the Resort will be minimal. I'm happy knowing that new trains are in the pipeline, but I'm rather unimpressed with their design, which looks to be very much business as usual. There's really nothing special about them.
