At both, you will have a few days of planned mini-meets. These are not sponsored by LP and are put on by any poster who feels so inclined to host a meet. You'll see these meets posted in LP Meets. At the BIG meet, however, there is from time to time an organized and LP-sponsored event surrounded by all of the little mini-meets. In the past, sponsored events have been a big group meal and Golden Doobie Awards. We've had them in the Big Thunder Ranch area, inside of the DL Hotel, and in the now-closed dining area in the Backlot at DCA. There is usually a host for the awards and either LP or the posters come up with entertainment of some sort. We've been very lucky over the years and have had monimal amounts to pay to attend the events. Sometimes, they have actual sponsors that bring down the costs. It just depends. There have also been Club 33 breakfasts, but those happen every great once-in-a-while.
