They constantly posited all sorts of scenarios about what Martin did that night that weren't proven AT ALL, with only Zimmerman's story (which wasn't even consistent) to back them up. Stoking the same assumptions about Martin in the jury's minds that we know Zimmerman had, or he wouldn't have followed him in the first place (and referred to him - even AFTER he shot him dead and found out he was unarmed - as "the suspect.")

    If you think the defense didn't put Martin on trial, I don't know what to tell you.
