The Halloween party is this weekend so I wasn't even tempted too much when my co-worker brought home made chocolate cake this week. Now if I can just keep making these good choices even after the party and don't slip into my old bad habits, I will be happy. mele - It sounds like overall you didn't do too bad with your trip. Pixie Glitter - Way to get back on the wagon. AHH - Smed would be glad to smack you upside the head whenever you need it.

Difficult with Halloween candy at work and coworker's birthday cakes every time I turn around! I am not going to go crazy with food on the cruise but hopefully I will be somewhat sensible. Then when I return I really need to get back on the wagon!!! So many are doing so well...keep it up! And mele, you are an inspiration.

No......now I'm mad because we get measured at Boot Camp NEXT Monday, after I've already lost a big chunk of flab... but I'm back baby - at least until the Christmas stuff starts coming out. Sometimes there is an advantage to being Canadian. We've already had our Thanksgiving. Keep it up all!

Granted, during most of that time, I was experiencing one of a string of injuries/ailments that kept me from exercising. But in all honesty, there were a good many days in there when I could have exercised with little difficulty. Fast forward to the past week and a half or so. I decided to begin getting back in shape with walking. I've walked anywhere from 30 - 45 minutes at a time on several days, never two days in a row. And those 30 to 45 minute walks--not runs, not jogs, but WALKS--are leaving me tired and with very sore leg muscles. No injuries or anything remotely like that, just plain old fatigue and soreness from exercising. From going for a few freakin' walks!!!! Augh! I have never been this out of shape in my entire life. I've never been more than a tiny bit tired or sore after walking. Ever. It's shocking how far my fitness level has plummeted in a few short months. Evidently you don't snap back as quickly after a certain age. So I'm glad I'm back on track, but horrified at how much ground I've lost. So here's the cautionary tale part. . . do not under any circumstances (short of being in a coma or traction) let you stop exercising for that long. Especially if you're (deep breaths, I can say it, I can, I can). . . middle aged. This is the point where ordinarily I would climb back down off my soap box, but my thighs hurt too much to do that, so just picture me doing so, okay?

I am visiting my daughter in Seattle now and it has rained a LOT and I do not have my doggie with me so........I have not gotten out to walk like I usually do. I am determined to get out today. And they have a Wii with all the exercise stuff so I really have no excuse. The upside is; my food intake has been awesome. Lots of fruits and veggies. (Thank goodness my daughter eats healthy.)

Way to go on getting out there iamsally I have decided I am going back to the weight loss part of my diet. I should wait another week and a half, but in all honesty apart from the knee needing rehabing still, I am feeling fine. So I decided I need to get on with the final push. Hopped on the scales this morning and I am still the same as pre-surgery, so I have 28lb left to lose.. Hopefully it won't take too long Roll on normal on my Wii Fit!
