Luckily I'm not tempted by all the candy, weird for me, I'm craving some cookies or cupcakes and FROSTING. Maybe some pumpkin pie. I haven't decided yet, whatever it is will be worth the calories and then Sunday I'll be smedley good What do you all plan to do to beat the Halloween treats? Avoid the treats completely, chew the candy and spit out like my mom does (at least she does it in private)indulge and then move on, keep to the low cal treats? Any inspiring ideas?

My friend's band is playing so we're going to go out to dinner and have some drinks. It's the drinks that I'm worried about. ;-) I bought a Bettie Page wig and will be wearing huge false eyelashes and red lipstick. Oh, and some red, glittery devil horns. That's the extent of my costume. Oh, and a top that looks kinda "pin-up" like. Meaning boobies. LOL. Tomorrow I'm going to shove a witch hat over the wig. Tada. Costume. (Kinda digging the black hair look, tho. Wish the wig was nicer...$13 hair doesn't really look or feel all that awesome. LOL)

I've gotten really weird about sweet beverages in the past few weeks. I can drink diet sodas but I'm starting to prefer unsweetened drinks. Even the soy milk in my latte is too sweet. Now I'm having 4 shots of espresso with tablespoon or so of half and half. No peppermint mochas for me this Xmas. We're going to a Halloween party tomorrow afternoon. It's at my friend's pizza/pasta restaurant. They have these amazing garlic and butter rolls. Those will be hard to resist.

That means I have now lost 48lb and 26 inches (inches might be off) it's fair to say I am pretty happy, the elusive 50lb loss is not too far away now

I've had squash soup and I liked that. Hmm, care to share your recipe smeds? We used to have 100 or so trick or treaters, now not so many now that the neighborhood kids are grown and gone AND we live on a hill. I bought full sized candy bars which are VERY hard for DH or I to "sneak just one because they are so small" I cracked up when I noticed that one of the candy bars had "4 GRAMS of PROTEIN" on the front of the wrapper. I think it had nuts in it Happy Halloween to all the losers, the really trying to be good but not quite there, the thinking about it but waiting until Monday and everyone muddling around in between
Originally Posted By smedley Amazed, I would guess it's similar to your squash recipe. Yummy To be honest I don't use hard and set measures, so just judge by eye how much stock you need for the amount of pumpkin, if you use a larger pumpkin you might want to add more onion too
Originally Posted By amazedncal2 Hmm, that sounds easy enough My kind of cooking for sure. I never thought to add curry, I LOVE curry. Well I ate my treats yesterday and you know what? They weren't all that great. DH and I did go for a drive and out to lunch and that sandwich was YUMMY but the pizza and cookies in the evening were just OK. Note to self. Don't bother with it next Halloween. Happy November first everyone It's a new month and it's time for me to get cracking to get some more weight off before the holidays. How about you all?

Also cauliflower cheese soup, follow same principles but add low fat soft cream cheese before you whizz it up, in fact I might just have that for dinner tonight. I slipped some last night (read couldn't resist the candy) and I felt hideous, my body totally can't take refined sugar any more. Back on the straight and narrow today though
