This has been the toughest week. Going through more marriage stuff. Really heavy stuff. The stress finally made me get sick. I've got a cold now. It's not too bad but I feel pretty cruddy. It's rainy and nasty here today so I probably won't go for a walk.

I am down another pound to 104 lbs. lost, though, so that's good. I think the 1.5-2 hr walks I went on last week helped.

Warner has run away again. I've got to muck out his room. I can't believe the damage he did in just a month. It smells horrible and there's a bunch of trash in there. Once I get it all cleaned out, I will have my workout space again. Not sure if I will want to be in there much, tho. It makes me sad.

I am still motivated to continue but it seems like there are so many social engagements and stress coming up that I will be happy if I just maintain.

Over the entire year, I've never gained any weight that wasn't from normal, hormonal fluctuations. I really want that to be the case through the holidays. It's just a mental thing for me. I like being able to remind myself of it but I also have a practical reason for not letting myself gain...I will have to be nekkid. I have none of my old clothes! LOL

You can read about the cow hormone here if you’re interested: www.rbstfacts.org.

Also you can get cheese that is rbst free! And it tastes just as good, can’t tell the difference!

An now that I know about this cow hormone. I am not going to jack n the box anymore!! Well at least no more beef for me!

While I do believe that the chemicals added to our foods can contribute to illness/obesity, I do not believe avoiding beef or cheese is going to alleviate that for most people. (There are some people who may be far more sensitive to chemicals and, therefore, have more problems.)

Just psychologically, I believe losing weight is much, much easier when you allow yourself to eat foods that you crave and to eat huge variety of foods. Our minds are quirky. We want what we can't have. Stopping cold-turkey is unrealistic and is just setting yourself up for failure.

Just cut those trips to JITB back. Treat yourself once a month. It's really doubtful that hormones in the beef and cheese have caused a weight problem in someone who eats fast food on a regular basis. It's all of the calories/fat/sodium w/virtually no nutrients that will do it.

And you can get cheese that doesn’t have the rbst hormone in it. It is just normal cheese but hormone free!

I totally agree mele. We want what we can't have.
My cousin is a body builder and fitness trainer and has won many bodybuilding competitions. She trains people and writes them diets to follow. The biggest thing that she teaches is not to deny yourself anything. Everything in portion. Indulge when you want to indulge, just not every day and when you do induldge dont go over board.
I myself can't induldge because I dont knwo when to stop. That is my downfall with food.
The idea food would be completely organic, however we do not live in an idealworld where that is always an option or affordable for some of us.
We can still eat healthy as long as we choose wisely and eat small portions.

<<But I’m not saying that everyone should avoid beef!!!!>>

LDCA,Calm down,no need to get stressed. No one is saying that you said everyone should avoid beef. We are just responding to posts as they come up.
We all have our own humble view points and opinions is all.
I could never be a vegitarian cause meat tastes so good. lol
Besides,If we weren't meant to eat animals, they would't be made out of meat. ;-)

OMG so true! Everything we consume has some sort of toxins in it for sure.
I wonder what it ws like back in the old days pre hormones and toxins and additives, when they didn't do the things that they do to the foods like today.
I bet everything they ate tasted so darn good!
