I'm tired of catering to them and their unhealthy (and BORING) foods choices. I'm a good cook and need to start using these cookbooks. If I don't use them, I might eventually have to stop buying them and I can't have that. ;-) In other news, I bought a magazine and Starbucks today. So much for saving $. LOL. The new "London Fog" tea is really tasty and sort of fits in with my goal of drinking more tea...and it's pretty cheap, too. (See how I let myself off completely?) LOL

We did well today and met at the gym and now have Spanish rice made with chicken breast simmering and cauliflower steaming on the stove.

I am late to join but I'm in! I have been drinking the slimfast shakes...they have to be super cold and they taste ok to me. I have yet to get back on the workout train. We have the Wii and the Wii fit but have not been consistent. I am starting to play softball again starting tomorrow so that will help. My goal is to lose 15 pounds by March 7th when I leave for WDW! Then the rest by the end of the year...about 50 pounds more.

Dinner was a little late this evening but I held it to a chicken breast and *one serving* of pretzels. I was craving something crunchy/salty. I actually went into the school cafeteria and asked the lunch ladies NOT to sell me any of their freshly baked cookies anymore. Even though they claim to be lower in fat - I just don't want that temptation anymore. AND ... while running errands this afternoon I let my daughter get an ice cream and I declined. Whooo Hooo!!! It's so hard since my job has turned into this bag o'stress lately. I'm doing my job, "babysitting" the long term sub in a class, it goes on and on. But now I can go to sleep tonight guilt free. It's been a long time since that's happened.

I went to a pancake restaurant last night ... I wasn't good, but I had a cream cheese crepe and water instead of my usual chocolate pancakes with extra ice-cream and soft drink. There was absolutely nothing healthy on the menu, and I figured I was at least doing *better*, if not actually being good! Today I had pasta and an apple for lunch, and am absolutely starving. I have a meal replacement bar for breakfast which is very filling so between that and lunch I'm normally fine until at least 5, but I started getting hungry around 2 today. Note to self, side salad or veggies next time I have pasta ... My official weigh day's Tuesday, but I think I'll weigh myself tomorrow (Friday) and get an idea of how I'm going before the weekend. Keep up the good work y'all!

I've been doing nothing but sitting on my butt watching TV, but that all ends Monday, when I go back to work. I even had my grandpa ask me today if WW was working, since I'm never in the kitchen without my journal and points calculator. Also, if you have a pocket PC or a smart phone, I found a program for it. There's a 15 day free trial, then it's $14.95 to buy the program. No sub fees, from what I can see. You can set your goals (weight goals and daily food goals) and keep track that way. I'm never without my phone, so this may be handy for me, in addition to the detailed journaling for WW. You can find it here: http://www.developerone.com/ifitone/ Glad to see everyone's making progress. I, too, had to resist the temptation of all the holiday candy and goodies at Walmart that were on Clearance. I stopped looking at all the holiday stuff, and high tailed it out of there. I even resisted today when they girls pulled out their candy stashes. I could have had 9 Kisses for 5 points, or 3 Starbucks truffles for 4 points. I went for the truffles because they were more satisfying for me. My will power is beyond strong at this point.

So here we go, let's start this second week of 2009, and continue establishing our healthy habits, eating foods that fuel our body, moving, stretching, exercising, drinking water to keep our bodies hydrated. Let's DO this! Jan

Today we sort of officially start. DH has his oral surgery in a couple of hours, liquid diet, then soft diet, so being the nice wifey I am I won't be hauling out the pizza or chocolate covered almonds. It's just sort of a kick start and I also have a captive audience for a couple of days to re explain WW to him. We'll also be starting up with the Wii again (gently for him) and make it routine. This time of year is good for us, diet wise, because it's our "busy time" at work (taxes) and our day and time is pretty set in stone. Clients rarely bring us goodies (this is not their favorite time of year) and if they do, I take it home and it goes into the freezer for when one of our kids comes home. DH just got up, today is going to be interesting.
