My motivation: --after spending 16 hours at Disneyland yesterday, my knee and ankles are STILL yelling at me. --I need more energy for my girls, my Brownie troop, and my 3 hour commute every day. --I couldn't go on Orange Stinger or Jumpin' Jellyfish yesterday with Alex because of the weight restriction. --I'm going to be celebrating my 30th birthday in December, and I want to look GOOOOD at the big LP meet. I went shopping today with my WW Points calculator. I'm going to do WW on my own for a few weeks, and join a gym. I joined the Discovery Health Body Challenge, where I got a free 30-day pass to Bally Total Fitness. I just hope I have the time to go. And as far as temptation, oh, yes! I have half a dozen sugar cookies in the kitchen, and so many fast food restaurants within a 5 minute drive. To curb the temptation, I will be buying Slim Fast drinks for my morning commute, and Special K chocolate bars. Also, if I MUST have some kind of fast food, I have to ride the bike to go get it.

Which is why I am much chagrined that my DH lost 4 more pounds and I was up about the same amount. GRRRRRRRRrrrrrr! But I was down almost 2# on my Fit today already. We will see how it is at the gym tomorrow as I am sure their scales are the most accurate. They do NOT take off for clothing so I have to take that into account. Today I am working on psyching myself up to get back on a serious band wagon. My son pointed out to me that my graph on my Fit shows ups and downs but it is gradually going down. My most recent weight is down from the beginning. I just know it could be much more if I curbed the eating a bit. I am not trying to go fast, just step up the pace a bit. A pound a month is really not enough. Especially if I want to look good in the summer clothes I have not worn for 4 years now. My best to all.

I probably know everything she is going to tell me, being off and on WW so many times but I've never let it stick for long. Maybe this is the kick in the patootie that I need. In the meantime DH will be riding on my WW coat tails as usual and losing 3 lbs for ever 1/2 I lose DH is having some minor oral surgery next week and will be on a liquid diet/soft foods for a few days so we are figuring that will be the start of our journaling I am dreading getting on my Wii and seeing what "he" says to me. I haven't been able to read everyones posts yet, is there an idea out there for a Dec LP meet goal? I'm looking forward to meeting those of your I haven't met yet

I think if I can lose 50 I may be able to go the water aerobics route. I was always the skiniest in school and this is so hard to take. My own fault I know. >>Tapdancemom - have you tried an elliptical machine? They're supposed to be easier on your joints. I got in a scooter accident two years ago and couldn't walk on the treadmill because of the pain, but I could do the elliptical without any discomfort.<< I've never tried the elliptical, it's worth a try, at least to have a trade off from the bike, thanks for the idea. NikkiLOVESMickey, I also like your goal/reward idea. I'm going to do the 10/25 goals too, don't know what I'll choose for the first once, but at 25 lb loss I'm going to get a massage.

Massages sound like a great weight loss reward.

Last Oct I went on a cruise with my aunt and Murfsmom, and I would NOT go to the jacuzzi. I have gained so much of my weight back, and my swimsuit is black, I just didn't want any confusion with the ship employees as to if a whale had come aboard or not. My weight has gotten that bad. That's why I started this thread. I am THRILLED that so many of you have joined in for the support and help that I need, and also to help yourselves. Does Mele have my phone number? LOL

I've read all the posts now and was surprised about the nutritionist posts. Is this something new? It makes sense that the Dr's are paying attention and referring out. Our old GP retired and 2 internists took over his practice. They are not letting us "get away" with anything. I'm now thinking of something I WANT for my 10 lb loss. The 25 lbs I mentioned is the amount that I'm guessing. It would be much more if I wanted to get to my "fighting weight" or anywhere near what I weighed when we got married. I've posted this before but here is advice given to me by my sister, a few years back. If you are going to throw out your cookies, etc. to avoid temptation, be sure to spray them with 409 or something. Just toss the cookies and give them a good shot. We all know why, don't we?
