The good news is I got my stitches out this morning from my foot surgery. Back in shoes, clunky ones, but better than the boot I was wearing. So now I can slowly begin to build up my walking and I plan to get on the Wii Fit for a few minutes tonight.

Dinner tonight: Tilapia, Brown Rice, Broccoli, and Salad.

I'm working on the water right now.

I'm happy to be here less but am not happy about having less money, especially when I was going to be buying a lot healthier food ingredients and thinking about joining a gym. So, I can't tell exactly what this answer to my prayers was...a sign that it's time to move on or just that it's less stress because it's less hours.

But, the question remains, will my boss expect me to do the same amount of work in 5 hours less time. If that's the case, then I know it will be time to move on. I'll probably end up working more hours for less money in an office but at least I'd get more benefits and have co-workers, etc.

And I won't even go into the stuff with my son. He turned 17 on Saturday and it looks like he's determined to make his last year in our home as horrible as possible.

2009 is going to be an interesting year and so far, I'm struggling to see the good parts!

I am starting slow. Today will be the first day - and I will start with drinking a glass of water on the hour - I know water is important and I need to get off the soda train and back on the water wagon.
I figure for me one change at a time...

Been there; as you well know. Ours is still putting a strain on my emotions but at least we are no longer legally responsible.
But thinking keeps me awake at night, then I am grumpy, stressed and depressed from lack of sleep and that all = compusive eating.
Working on living in the day and having faith that things will turn out and my being fat will NOT help anybody.
Today is good food-wise. Don't know yet if we will Wii or gym or both. Rod being laid off is tough on the budget but it's nice to have him as a workout buddy.

"One day at a time" is such a cliche but there are days when it's my mantra. Somehow I'm going to have to pull out massive strength to get things accomplished this year and I'm not sure how to do it. Going to be a lot more prayers than chocolate this year, I fear. ;-)

I have decided I want to be back down to 200 lbs. So thats the goal.

I too get inspiration from the Biggest Loser. I have one of their workout dvds and it is really good. I got a new one for Christmas, but haven't tried it yet. The one I have done is the Cardio workout.

So not the day I planned but I certainly am well under my per day calorie plan. ;>

Hang in there Mele. 2009 has got to be better, in fact, I demand that it be better <giving 2009 the eyebrow>. See 2009 is now afraid of us. We are in control!

Thank you mele but no worries yet. Construction is like that and we plan for it. In fact, it is always slow at Christmastime but this is the first time it has been bad enough for him to get unemployment. The worry is that this crazy economy has me wondering how long it will last.
In the mean time it is giving us the chance to eat well and get to the gym together.
We may even be able to fit in a Washington trip.

BTW, I found some great recipes on CookingLight.com. The chicken tamale casserole and the sirloin stir fry are really good, and a decent sized portion will only run you about 350 calories.

I am now on my sixth day of the new healthier living routine. I walked an hour today, and I've been religiously writing down every morsel of food I eat each day. Man, I cannot say enough good things about the power of writing down everything you eat! As always, that is drastically decreasing what I eat without my really having to exercise much will power at all.

I'm sore from both walking and lifting weights, but it's a good, mild sore. Best of all, I'm feeling very enthused about the whole process, which is always the biggest hurdle for me. Once I get off to a good start, I'm generally successful in sticking with it. So far, so good!

Isn't the high we get from good living a blast?!? Makes me wonder why I sometimes let it slip away?

I must remember to be more insistent on no meetings infringing on meals. *sigh*

Tomorrow evening my son and I have promised to go to the gym. Yea!
