This morning I used Jillian Michaels No More Trouble Zones or, as I like to call it, 50 mintues of hell with weights. My muscles are not happy but I feel good. Glad to hear everyone's still trying hard, it's all we can do and iamsally don't be so hard on yourself, having a cold is miserable and whatever makes you fell better now is what is important And also remember the old rule: if it's a chest cold then you can do light exercise, but if it's a head cold you are best to not exercise at all or you could make yourself worse and I think I speak for everybody here that we don't want to see you sick {{{{Ruthie}}}}

Oh well, it wasn't a gain Since DD#2 has been home the diet has changed a bit. I need to get it back on track and NOT add those sourdough rolls or rice a roni to our meals. I slipped back into old habits. It's me not her, so starting today I'm going to be more aware of that. We went to SF yesterday to see the King Tut exhibit. While on the 9th floor there was an emergency evac and we had to hurry down 9 floors. Talk about unplanned exercise! It started to rain so the rest of our plans in SF fell through. We ended up going to Ghiradelli Square and splitting a peanutbutter/chocolate sundae. We felt like we could have it after the 9 floor shuffle and we hadn't really had much for lunch. Anyway, we used to be able to have our own sundae but after splitting this one (and a cookie) we both felt overstuffed and needed a walk. Long story short, our bodies have changed Have a great day everyone!

Tomorrow I start back to Monday's Tai Chi class & hope I didn't get too far behind being sick for so long. I am in it for the long haul (4 years). Iamsally-I hope you feel better soon. This is definitely the season for colds, eh? Thanks scgoofygirl for the reminder, which I forget as I am not much of a drinker --- MORE WATER MORE WATER! And Persistance not perfection is the way to go-FOR SURE! Monday is nose to grind-ouch! Smedley you go girl!!!♥♥♥

I know its full of antioxidants and that's a good thing. So I'm trying to drink less coffee and more green tea. I have a gluten sensitivity and it seems to be getting more sensitive as the years go by. Had lots of trouble with that over the weekend, but am going to focus on being 100% gluten free this week. One of my dogs is getting sick. She is almost 11, and has an enlarged heart. She coughs, and coughs, and coughs all the time. Poor little thing. She is on medicine, but it seems to be getting worse anyway. Not sure what is going to happen, but am sad to think that this could be the beginning of the end with her. She is a sweet little chihuahua. We are hoping when the weather warms up she will improve a little, the cold air seems to be hard on her. My goal for today: no white sugar!

DH has been on it for about 5 weeks now. I am avoiding the scale as it becomes an obsession for me. I just have to continue with what I know is right. Got a Disneyland trip coming up in a couple of weeks and want my pants to fit.

We went on a mini vacation to Disneyland this past week and spent the better part of 4 days there. I was really good in that I didn't eat the doughnuts and muffins from the continental breakfast the hotel served. I had cereal and juice and coffee. I didn't eat an Apple Pie Apple. Or the hot buttered popcorn that I could smell all through the park every day! No churros or corndogs or hamburgers. No cinnamon rolls or fudge or cookies. I had salads for lunch or dinner mostly. But!!! I did have ribs and fries one night at the Taste Pilots Grill. And DH bought me a Dole Whip one day. We shared a swirl cone one day too. There was so much temptation around every corner! I had hoped with all the walking around it would balance everything out but when I got on the scale today I was up 3 lbs!!! Drat and double Drat!!! So, I am back on the wagon again! Good luck to all of you!

I am proud of you. iamsally-I've made gf bread in the bread machine. I think I used Gluten Free Bakery brand. It was okay. I just found (it might just be a Colorado thing, not sure) UDI bread, muffins, etc. Excellent! Tastes like real bread, has real bread texture, none of that crumbly texture, weird tasting stuff. I have found it at Whole Foods, and a local grocery store that has a good gf section. Had a good day yesterday. Ate a lot of veggies and drank more water. It's supposed to be a nice day today. I'm going to try to get out for a brisk walk or maybe even a run. I'll be at DLR in about 7 weeks, so I need to get ready for that! Let's DO this!

I'm always up at least a couple of lbs after being away from home. Maybe it's the salt I REALLY need to work on being better about having kids back home to cook for. NOT that they are demanding or anything, it's just not as easy as when it's just DH and myself. Actually they all eat pretty healthy, it's just me feeling like I need to put more effort into a meal. DD will start cooking occasionally but I think I'll plan the meals so I stay on point. DS#2 is coming to stay for a couple of days. He is a vegetarian vegetarian, meaning no fish. So far I've decided on veggie quesadillas with chicken for those who want it for one meal and who knows what else for the other. Thanks for listening. Seriously I used to cook for 6 people daily without batting an eye, now it's like it's a puzzle that I have to solve each day. Hi KatieKate123 iamsally, a Disneyland trip is a GREAT motivator! Lucky you!!! cs, it sound like you are firmly seated on the wagon! Good for you!! momluvs, you are back and that is what matters, right? A mere blip! geniesjoy, you are such an inspiration! How did your Tai Chi class go? Have a great day everyone
