smedley...hope you're feeling better soon! I have a bad cold now. Haven't had one the whole time I battled with my cancer, and I go back to work for one day and here I am all stopped up and headachey, teary eyed, and phlegmy throated. Sorry...TMI!
    Good luck to all today!

So, drum roll please, this week I've lost 1.5 kilos making a total of 4.8 kilos in 4 weeks and a total of 13 centimeters. Yipppeeeeee!

Sorry to hear about all the colds everyone is suffering from but glad to hear about all the progress you are making, even if it's a case of sticking to your guns, we are getting somewhere!

Ok, my inspirational quote for this week is from the man himself...Mr Walt Disney, "If you can dream it, you can do it".

Well I started it in the States on holidays, so let's ignore the first couple of weeks. But when I got back I got fairly much immediately back into my routine instead of saying "oh, I can have a can of coke, I'm just back from vacation!" So I'm fairly pleased with myself there. That said, I'm maintaining, but not losing - so I need to kick it up a notch or two because I really want to lose 9kg (about 20lbs) by September, when I'm bridesmaid for a friend. Well, I'd REALLY like to lose the 9kg before this Thursday when I have to try the dress on! I can dream it, but I don't think I can do it in this case ;)

The thing working in my favour now is that it's swimming weather, so I'm doing laps every day, which really helps. My sister has given me her old treadmill but I haven't even plugged it in yet *guilty look* I keep picturing myself using it like Tina Fey's character on 30 Rock - walking at snail's pace while eating a sundae!!

Anyway, glad to have this thread for motivation once again - you guys inspire me. So now, instead of sitting around on the computer before I go to my friend's birthday drinks, I'm going to go for a swim!

Liberty Belle...you CAN do it. Okay, maybe not by Thursday but just take it a day at a time. And stop imagining Sundaes! Now I totally have that pictured in my head.
I got on the scale this morning and had lost the pounds I'd put on over vacation! Yea!!!! Between having a cold and not being able to taste anything and going back to work...I kept busy and didn't much want much to eat. So, I think I'm back to having lost 4 lbs. Gosh, this is tough!

Now I want sundaes too, Liberty Belle, but it's good to have you with us. I have around another 11kg to lose, so pretty close to you, and if it keeps coming off at this rate hopefully I'll make it by my birthday in June. Then I can eat cake and put it all back on :)
Between this thread and the Violet Crumbles in the Nemo Meet thread I'm holding on by a string, lol. Luckily we don't have any junk food in the house, however my sister is bringing my DS home a bag of Twisties from work so I might be clawing the sofa later on haha.

Today I'm going to lunch with my mom and sisters. My sisters and I are always on a diet so it's funny how we look at the menu and then look at each other to see who is keeping to their diet :)

I was down 1/2 lb. at my Friday weigh in. Combined with last weeks loss of .4lbs this is a slow go! I need to get really serious. My goal is to be down another 10 by the end of April. My "exercise" has been constant but I know I need to up my water intake (so much easier to do in the summer) and tweak my portion control. We are going to Reno next weekend so that's always at least a pound or two back up. It must be the altitude, LOL! That and salt!

YAY for Tinkeroon to have lost the vacation weight :) Getting back at it and not giving up after a vacation is GREAT!

    Hi Liberty Belle :)

Have a great day everyone! Your posts are inspiring and a pleasure to read. We can do this!!

I am hoping that on Monday I will pull myself up by my bootstraps and get serious. And I have to get more exercise.
I can rationalize that away as well. But I want to be in shape. I feel so much better when I am. But quite honestly, I am lazy and if there was a pill that produced the same results as good diet and exercise; I would take it.

But don't beat yourself up. We all have days like that. It's hard to get motivated when the weather's like this. It's cold and rainy and you just feel sluggish. And who wants water when it's cold out? Your're right Amazed, the water part is much easier in the summer.
I feel soooo much better when I'm in shape (that's been a long time ago) but somehow I always manage to tell myself "Tomorrow" or "Later". A pill? Oh, that would be great!

We had a nice healthy stew last night, but with our colds we lazed around ALL DAY yesterday, literally. We barely got off our duffs. So I hope that doesn't come back to bite us in the...uh...duff.

Tink dearD & Smedley-I am sorry to hear you have a cold. Seems like no one has skated by this winter without that misery.
I hope you both recover soon.♥♥♥
Monday is usually Tai Chi class day but instead I will visit my wonderful Chiropracter as I put my shoulder out. He keeps me functioning. Everytime I go to pack my suitcase for DL my back goes out-go figure that one. Other than that I feel confident with my food today. Hope everyone has an easy Monday all day!!!

Back to it today though. I have decided I am going to see about going to another clinic, I need the culpability of a weigh in, sad but true, it keeps me more honest, and will mean the weight will go quicker. So I have a number for the one close to where I work, and am going to give them a ring to arrange it hopefully.

But then I remembered the dress I have to wear on Friday night. I'm having angst about it. I might double up on the Spanx. ;-)

I've been struggling a lot lately. I've been so stressed out and am usually okay during the week, but from Fri-Sat, I've been pigging out. I'd like to lose about 40 more lbs. but because of how stressful my life is right now, I'm happy just to maintain for awhile. I'm having a harder time doing that than I ever had all last year. I'm not sure why it's so much harder right now (and am a bit bitter about it. LOL)

I'm a bit afraid that I will lose my motivation entirely and gain the weight back. There's a part of me that doesn't think I will but I don't want to ignore any signs that I am slipping back, you know?

Anyway...I'll just be thinking "red dress, red dress, red dress" all week long. ;-)

Anyone else have any fun Valentine's Day plans? We're going to Maggiano's, an Italian restaurant (chain). Their food is so decadent. Reading the menu is like food porn.
