Still inches are good, and my waist measurement is now under the precursor for type 2 diabetes which is great. Hopefully two weeks will show a better lb loss

And Smed, I have to see my doctor sometime within the next month, so I may ask him about the detox then.

Somtimes the ads for the surgery make me think that is the better road. A quicker way to be curvy instead of obese...sorry just in a bad place today.
Originally Posted By Mickeysbestfan ++I am actually thinking more and more about somthing surgical,++ Actually this is not an easy solution. It is a great jump start. I have watched many of my friends struggle for years with weightloss. I have seen not just the physical, but the mental toll this has taken on them. Within the last year 5 of my friends have done the bariatric surgery. Two did the lapband the others have done the gastric bypass. Four of them are so happy with the decision they made. They have lost alot of weight, but still have to work very hard at it. It wasn't a magic pill, it was more like a new start for them. The one who isn't happy did have the gastric bypass, but she did not follow the program and ate things before she was suppose to and made bad choices in food. She has suffered with it. She is now following the plan and is doing better. If you are seriously thinking about it, research it carefully. Check out the different programs in your area, and see if they have support groups you could attend to hear what those who have had the procedure done have to say. I attended some of the meetings with one of my girlfriends and the information from those who have been through it was better than anything she read online. Check with your insurance and see if they cover it, all 5 of my friends did have insurance coverage for it.

For others ,all they have to do is stop chewing gum and they lose 10 pounds. No matter who you are though, it CAN be done. I"m in the same boat as everyone here. some good days, some bad days. I have compiled a list of silly/fun things that burn calories on daily basis. We are always looking for new ways to burn an extra hundred calories throughout our days, right? Some of them are downright silly, but heck, maybe shearing sheep is in your future so check out my ten favorites from their list: 1. Slather on lip balm 765 times. 2. Relive the '80s. Lip sync George Michael's Faith 16 times. 3. Swing a lasso over your head 375 times. 4. Shear three sheep (6 minutes per sheep). 5. Put a 42-pound 4-year-old in the child seat and it'll only take half an hour. 6. Wash, halve, and seed two acorn squash, then watch them bake for 30 minutes. 7. Play "Chopsticks" on the piano incessantly for 41 minutes. 8. Sing the Grease original soundtrack from start to finish. 9. Have fun when you get back to work: Twirl 123 times in your office chair (try not to puke). 10. No game necessary: Do 780 jumping jacks. Yes, 780. 11. Mowing the grass for 15 minutes. This is using a push mower. If you are on a riding mower it will take about an hour to burn the 100 calories 12.. If you have 25 minutes you can clean your house to burn the calories or mop the floors. 13.. Wash your car yourself it takes about 30 minutes to do it, but you will burn about 100 calories while washing your car. 14.Work in your garden for 20 minutes this can be either weeding or planting. 15.Kissing burns calories, GO NUTS! 16.Do not use electric toothbrush. Brush your teeth with your hand. 17.Stand up to take shower instead of lying on bath tub. 18.Towel your hair dry instead of using a hairdryer. 19.Do not use TV remote control. Get up, walk to the television and change the channel or volume manually. 20.When you are watching television, sit on a balance ball rather than sitting in the couch. 21.After you finish washing dishes, dry them instead of leaving them to drain. 22.Squeeze the fruit with your hand and not using juicing machine. 23.Instead of microwaving your dinner, cook something. 24.Polish your shoes more often. 25.When you hang your clothes, bend to the basket and get each cloth up, give it a vigorous shake before hanging it. 26.For old cardboard box, rip it first and fold it instead of letting the box in its original shape waiting for recycling van to collect. 27.If you see a housefly, instead of using spray, hit it with magazine or newspaper. 28.When you talk to someone on the phone, use a cordless phone so that you can walk around while you are talking. 29.Stretch your leg when you open you are taking food out from your fridge or grill – “kung fu” cooking style. Just FYI, there are ABOUT 2,000 steps in a mile( give or take depending on your stride) you will burn roughly 100 calories for each mile you walk. I'm just sayin'. :-D {{{{LOSERS}}}}

Belly dancing is definitely sensual & you will be great doing it, plus it feels wonderful. Maybe you can teach Daisy to do it with you! Dogs love to wiggle & SF & CB can learn to doing the fancy footwork. My cats ♥ it when I dance around the front room. I just started a YOGAROBICS class yesterday. I gained another lb. last week & my body was a hurtin especially in the shoulders. Been to the chiropractor 4 times this mo. but not much better. But---this work-out class is a killer & I feel it is just what I need. Good news is it's free once a week & combined with Tai chi, I think I can make progress. All the ladies are in their 30's with kids so there are little toddlers running around between our mattes as we groan & grimace, well at least I do. And laugh at my old body trying to stretch out in warrior-like posses or contort like a snake. My food plan is even getting better. Been going for more organic food grown locally. I have noticed the fruit& veggies look good in the store but when I get it home it has no flavor. I think that is because it comes from Chile & Mexico and by the time it gets here it has lost it potency. Also there is something to know-Monsanto company has altered seeds it sends to third world countries to grow our food & they have added perticides to make them better (ha!)& they are only good for one year's growth. That way the countries have to repurchase them every year instead of just using the seeds again for next crop. Pretty slick for Monsanto!!!! NOT FOR US!!! I am looking into taking vitamin D3. Vitamin D comes in 2 types, 2 being the usual one taken. Dr. gives the go ahead for me. 2 older friends of mine are taking 5000 I.U. of it & by reading up on it on the net I think it will be good for me, especialy in the winter months when we don't get enough sun. Check it out on the web by just putting in Vitamin D3. I take Calcium with Magnesium & D2 but the D2 doesn't give the greater benefits as the D3 does. Congrats Smedley & Dave. My trainer used to tell me inches are more impt. than weight. I stil like to see the lbs. melt away. Tinkeroon-♥♥♥DD!

Hopefully with the sun showing it's face more & more it will be easier & there is more fresh food available. Hope this weekend was good to you all in this struggle to improve our health & vitality. ♥GJ

Homemade soup if you don't have access to a microwave at work you could heat it in the morning and take it in a flask. I have been bad at the weekend, this regularly seems to happen when I have visitors, I really need to get a handle on that. Back on the wagon today, hopefully I will rapidly undo any damage done!
Originally Posted By davewasbaloo Ok, over the weekend I was bad as we were decorrating. Pizza Hut delivered on Saturday and home made burgers on Sunday. Today was porridge with cranberries and blueberries for breakfast. Lunch was a pepper pasta dish (200 calories), brussel sprouts and cauliflower. I will have a banana later Tonight will likely be just a little sushi or something small. Need to get back on top of it. I am at a conference this week, so I do wonder what will happen there.

If you have a microwave you can make "quesidillas", or burritos too. Also,keep your lunch in mind while making dinner the night before. Cut up a few extra veggies and bag them then for your lunch. If there is left over meat, shred it before you put it in the refrig. for a salad or a wrap. If you are making a salad, set some aside in a covered bowl (undressed) to take to work. My sister buys those huge costco sized baby greens tubs. Everyday she takes a "tupperware" container with handfuls of the greens, tosses a bit of low cal dressing on top or just some rice vinegar and some proteins (meat/cheese) and off she goes. At work she gives it a good shake and voila, a nice salad with little effort and LOTS of fiber. I also make sure I have an afternoon snack. Some almonds or string cheese and fruit or raw veggies or a high protein granola type bar. I did OK over the weekend. Not great but I got in some exercise and drank my water My food choices could have been better and I'm really noticing it when the carbs are too high. I'm feeling over stuffed
