Marlin Perkins it sounds like you are off to a great start and it's great to have you with us. Tinkeroon sweet potatoes are great for weight loss as they are low GI. We need carbs as much as protien and fibre, they make insulin for our brains so without them we can't think great. I just try to stay away from processed carbs (like all the white foods you mentioned) as they have all been ground up already so our bodies just burn through them in no time. However high fibre carbs like whole grains and whole meal actually make our bodies work harder to process them so we get a little work out on the inside. I really don't think there is such a thing as a bad vegetable, they are all natural and therefor have some nutrients and vitamins that we need. iamsally I loled when you said about the wrist weights Well I had my weight-in day yesterday and I've shed 1.4 kilos of the weight I put back on when I was sick. I've been chucking on a Sex In The City DVD and walking briskly on the treadmill for two episodes and then 10 minutes on the exercise bike, so I'm happy that it seems to be working. All we can do is keep plodding along and one day we will all get there!

Of course I attribute most of that this week to having a nasty cold through our house. Both me and my husband have been yucky sick and the baby had it go into her ears so is on her first antibiotics. So there have been a few sleepless nights and cranky days and worrying about eating right (or at all) just hasn't been high on the priority list. On the upside everyone is on the mend now so hopefully next week I can get back to having a little more focus on healthy eating.

Still struggling with the tooth and the pain, hoping it improves soon as we're off to Prague on Friday. On the upside am definitely feeling thinner, so I suppose I should be grateful for small things Stay with it girls!

And I think I am skinnier than when we got married 10 years ago, my wedding ring slips off my finger occassionally. You think I would feel better (and when it comes to physical activity I do), but I have had the most ailments in long time. Currently fighting conjuctivitis (Pink eye) and tonsilitis. Not cool. But the great news is the last blood work I had showed me not to have type 2 diabetes (and strengthened my resolve not to get it) Keep up the good work folks.

I am trying really hard to avoid the unhealthy ones and incorporating the good for you ones. Bad grammar but good intentions Great job to those of you who are losing and staying in the fight! LOL! iamsally, also sounds like something I would do

Yeah for Tandelothien for re~losing that weight! Hope you continue to feel good. Wish I had a treadmill sometimes. My parents have one and everytime I think about asking if I can borrow it they start using it again! Smed...have fun in Prague! You've gone before haven't you? How far is it from you? My boss went one year and just loved it. mickeymeg I hope the family is all recouperating! Sounds like you were all pretty miserable for a while there. But the up side is you lost another 2.4!! We did go to the movies and I did have my popcorn. But later that evening I got violently ill. Do not know what prompted it all. Food poisoning? No fever or chills. Just a bad headache and then nausea and then, well, we don't need to talk about that. Not a fun night! Was wondering if having that popcorn with all that chemical laced butter and popcorn salt was what did it. I've gotten so used to having healthy, non processed food, and maybe my tummy couldn't handle it. Funny how that popcorn doesn't sound so good anymore.

Still being good, but my sleep patterns are a bit all over so we will see what happens when I weigh on Wednesday. Well done on not having the bun amazed! Onwards and downwards

I try to see it as my body gently reminding me not to try to destroy it again =) I bet next time that popcorn won't look as yummy. I hope you are much better this morning. Smedley, have fun in Prague that sounds like a fantastic trip. Good luck on Wednesday I am sure you will do fine =)

I'm going to re think it now I hope you are feeling OK Poor smedley! It seems that your health and your vacations don't get along. You must be quite frustrated with that tooth. I'm off to do the Wii Fit now, I need to figure out how to do some ab/tummy blub toning without hurting my back.

The health benefits will be so rewarding. I did my *hard* workout on my WiiActive. It was very invigorating. Now we are off to walk to the Post Office. Healthy thinking cuz we could drive.

Had the whole weekend off from work...which is a rarity and ended up sick for most of it. Well, at least I got to go to the movies. When I went in to work today, however, I found that one of my co-workers (that I worked with on Fri.) was also sick over the weekend with much the same symptoms. So it may not have been the popcorn after all. But who knows...

I have to cook dinner for the whole tribe so it's really hard to smell it and look at it and know you can't have it LOL. I did good though. I only ate a little. Night time is usually the toughest because we're just sitting around. Although, lately, I haven't had the same cravings at night. In fact, I haven't been eating at all after dinner.
