Well the diet went to the dogs at the weekend, it seems Czech food is not diet friendly whether you intended to be or not ;) Back on point today now that I am back, no doubt be enjoying a detox headache over the next couple of days. Fingers crossed the damage isn't too serious LOL

I have been at Brownie camp all weekend so I missed weigh in on Saturday and didn't eat as healthy as I would have liked. I did try to keep portion control in mind at least and lead the girls on a big hike so hopefully it will all even out. I am trying not to dwell on it and just start fresh today.

Sorry to hear about the food poisoning Tandelothien that doesn't sound like any fun. I hope it passes quickly.

mickeymeg, you can "muddle" the leaves a bit for more flavor. Put the leaves in with your water, take a spoon and smush the leaves to the bottom of the glass and smush them around a bit to break out the flavor. Then put in ice if you wish. Or you can just tear or bend the leaves to release flavor before you drop them in.

I'm thinking of buying a scale. I haven't weighed myself since I was at the doctor last. I wasn't planning on weighing at all because I think you can drive yourself nuts with the ups and downs of everyday weigh-ins.

Marlin, I think weighing is ok so long as you have a healthy attitude towards it :)

I am back on plan, with a stonking detox headache to pay for the weekend but feeling good other than that LOL! Oh and I weighed and I am up half a pound, given the food and drink over the weekend I am more than happy with that, hopefully be back to pre holiday weight in the next couple of days :)

Marlin, go ahead and get a scale but put it in your closet. You won't be as tempted to weigh too often if it's an effort to do it. I weigh once a week and am never tempted otherwise. DH weighs once or twice a week.

I'm bringing dessert to Easter lunch and I'm having the best time with DD looking through old and new recipes and seeing the difference in them. We've decided to make carrot cake cupcakes from scratch with a healthier version recipe. 3 other desserts, all in mini sizes so I can taste everything and not feel like I've gone overboard. I'm still deciding whether to try making a "healthy" version of chocolate cupcakes from scratch. Has anyone ever tried it? You use applesauce instead of some of the oil.

Where is mele and all her cookbooks? :)

I hope everyone is having/has a GREAT day, is feeling good/better and we'll take this one day at a time :)

Reasonable though, since a saltine cracker looks like a steak to a starving person.

Let me know if you need the recipe but if you google chocolate beetroot cake it should bring it up, and no it doesn't taste of beetroot just sweet gooey chocolate wonderfulness ;D

Hahaha...like THAT'S going to happen! Not that I don't like beets! But rarely buy them fresh...they're fairly expensive. Tried growing some last year. We waited until THIS year to pull them up (a couple of weeks ago) and it was all of about an inch and a half big! Really sad. I think we don't have the soil in our garden for them. I know others who have good luck with them. Well, it's food for thought anyway.
I "think" I may have lost another pound. I got on the scale this morning and it was hovering around the one lb. loss. But you know how, when you move around a bit, the needle seems to wiggle and you try to not to put the weight on a different area, and it seems a little iffy. But it's a positive feeling for me. And now here comes Easter. I hope I don't blow it.

That's cute. The scale I had was REALLY bad about that so I never used it anymore. I bought this new one with digital reading which is just like the one I weighed myself on at my parent's home. So, I'm hoping it's accurate.

Mama T, yup I am with Marlin I have the digital scale too, no wiggling to worry about then ;) I am sure you will do great over Easter, and if not then right back on the wagon afterwards right?

Kitty, gym every day isn't the best anyways, good luck on the cosmetology school (is that to become a beautician right?) I don't wear any makeup I am always impressed by people who can apply it :)

Speaking of the gym, I am going to head down there in an hour's time on my lunch break, I am working nights this week, won't do too much, but anything is good right? :)
