Weight Watchers remains one of the best plans around. We have followed it (when we are on track) for years; though neither of us is a member. Rod's mom lost a ton on it in the 70's. Yeah, it has changed since then but it is still based around good nutrition and healthy choices.
I feel so good right now.
    My best to all.

We walked without the dog this morning and boy can we walk fast when we don't have her wanting to stop and sniff everything :) The whole time of course I'm thinking about what else I can eat today with the pumped up exercise.

My sister reminded me yesterday about how to microwave popcorn in a paper bag. I'm going to try it tonight. I'm finding that I don't like the microwave popcorn oily taste anymore. OR maybe that I keep buying the "lite" versions and they taste "lite" :p

Hope everyone is having a great day.

Then I hear something moving under the bedside table right beside my head, I look again and, the absolute horror, there was a big cane toad IN MY BEDROOM!!

Now just to put this horror in perspective, I have frog fear and toads are worse, so I completely freaked out. I can still physically see my skin crawl just thinking about it and it has certainly curbed my appetite lately :)

Tand, I have never heard of a frog fear before. I always thought of them as being quite cute. I am sorry you have been traumatized thought. Would it help to think of it as Kermit the frog under your bed hiding from Miss Piggy ?

And the more I think about it the less appealing a toad sounds. You can keep them. Any idea how it got in the house...much less-your room?!? DS wasn't playing any tricks on you was he? :)

Cane toads are big, motley brown and lumpy looking and one record breaker grew to the size of a small dog. This one was around the size of a baseball though. They secrete poison from glands behind their heads so are deadly to any birds or animals that eat them and you shouldn't touch them with bare hands or at least near their head. They can't jump or climb up walls but they can smoosh themselves flat to get under doors etc. and are attracted to light and any kind of food sources including rubbish and pet food.
My room is on the ground floor of the house so it may have gotten under the back door although I'm not sure how it would've gotten past the dog, I'm just hoping there is only one *shudders*
Unfortunately my frog fear is inherited so my mum and my sister have it as well, so we are all useless in this situation lol.

mickeymeg, I didn't end up trying it last night but my sister swears it works great.

    -3 tablespoons of popcorn kernels
=oil of your choice, she thought a teaspoon but she doesn't use it so wasn't sure

put in lunch size paper bag, fold over 3 times and staple (she tapes it because the staple didn't sound like a good idea)

place in microwave folded side down for 3 minutes on high

    season to your taste

Sis said she can microwave it a bit longer to pop all the corn.

I also have a microwave popcorn popper that I haven't used in years. Maybe I should break that out :)

I have a weigh in today at the MD's, I'll be back to report later..........

(Chocolate frogs anyone?) So sorry, could not resist.
Doing well. Rod looks like he has lost some already. Neither of us has been on the scale yet. No need really when you know you are doing right.
    Take care all.
Can we keep an eye on each other this weekend amazed?

So I was down 3 lbs at my weigh in today. They still show 3 lbs to the "goal" but my scale shows 1 more to go so I like my scale better :) She was happy with me, gave me some tips about vacationing and food which is mostly "get your exercise in no matter what"....... :p :p :p

I think Bufos may be the same as Cane Toads as I think the scientific name for them starts with something like that :)

If you want to curb your appetite I highly recommend googling them and then picture one slowly walking along your bedroom floor *shudders again*
Even when I go downstairs to exercise I'm anxiously looking around the treadmill when I start it to make sure nothing hops out :)

Okay, so today I was FINALLY back to my pre-Easter weight. I don't want to even think about this weekend. It's soooo hard eating out! It wouldn't even be so bad if DH would diet with me! We could kinda keep each other in line...but he's just not having any of it. He sorta diets by proxy...since he doesn't cook and as long as we're eating at home~he has to eat what I make, which is usually really healthy and low fat. So when we go out he gets all this yummy tasting fattening stuff. I just have to think about what it's NOT doing to me!

That kills them apparently and yes I know that's a bit cruel but I'm a nervous wreck and can't sleep in my own bed anymore. I'm pretty sure Fowley is sick of sharing her bed with me lol.

I had a bad couple of days after a bit of a health scare. Didn't really enjoy the bad things I ate, felt awful after, feel even worse today *sigh* my body seriously cannot deal with refined sugar any more. Back on the wagon today, hopefully no permanent damage done (can't have been too much 3 people have told me how good I look today lol!) so if someone could just take this detox headache away we will be fine ;)

The thing that is SO funny to me is that each time I commit to something like weight watchers, HE loses weight quickly :p Then a client will mention how they can tell he's lost weight and he says that HE is on weight watchers! LOL!!!! I'm waiting for the day that someone who knows about weight watchers asks him something about it :)

Tand, I so hope that the frog is gone and not lurking around. Several years ago I got up in the middle of the night and walked into a dark kitchen. I stepped on something squishy with my bare feet, turned on the light and it was a HUGE banana slug! I was screaming bloody murder and had my foot up in the kitchen sink running water over it. DH came running out thinking I was going into labor :) The slugs were coming though a small opening next to the pipe under our sink :p Gosh that must have been almost 30 years ago and I'm getting the shivers remembering it.

smeds I hope you are feeling better soon!

I'm going to try to make a healthier version of lasagna today. I'm using whole wheat noodles and I'm adding some zucchini and spinach and using low fat mozzarella and ricotta and my homemade sauce. Please wish me luck! I'm often disappointed when I try to make something healthy and it tastes more good for you than good.

    okay...mini rant is over...

amazed...I made a lasagna very much like your healthier version and it was really good. Except for the whole wheat noodles. DH does not like the texture and hates it when I use them.

smedley...What did you have with refined sugar that so upset your system? I hope you are feeling better by the hour!!
