Oh boy can I identify. Maybe I should not be posting this as *he* sometimes lurks here. But everything we do is MY idea. Believe me, I am just thrilled that he is taking this seriouly most of the time. But we exercise together when I bring it up. We go the the gym when I insist. He will eat all of whatever I put on his plate. If there is something still in a pan or dish he asks if I cut it in half. He will take all of what is left unless I tell him not to. He still does not know a reasonable portion size on his own.
Then.......when we were talking about our weight loss at Disneyland this winter he was going on about his *life style change*. And tells everyone how great the WiiFIT is. (LOL or GRRRR) I do not know which.

Still on track today. I am having some depression or fatigue problems. It is pissing me off. I want to just feel great. But as long as I do not let it make me eat I know it will pass. And I am still detoxing from Easter I imagine.

Anyway, DS getting married (in DL, of course) this coming December, and I want to lose a whole lot of weight by then. I've done it before, but I am so much older now. Sigh. Idiot for gaining it all back. Gone are the days of elastic skin, so I really blew it this time! Off work this week so I've been going to the gym 2 times a day and counting calories, which for me is essential. The key for me will be to continue going to the gym when I am back at work next week (plan is to change at at work so I'm committed). I've lost the first 25, but it keeps getting harder. 8 more pounds till I'm no longer obsese, but a long way to normal. You guys are an inspiration!

iamsally, LOL!!! LOL!!!! Dave doesn't know anything about portions, whole grain, supplements, fiber or heart healthy other than what I put in front of him. He was telling someone the other day about how much he likes swiss chard!

Welcome back gardenrooms!!! How exciting that you have a wedding to look forward to. DS is getting married next year but no date or location is confirmed yet. I'm also keeping that day in mind as I continue on this journey. Please join in!

The texture is so, so, *shudders* crazy disgusting! If you can get past that, more power to you. I have tried every way imaginable to cook them. NOTHING works. Same gross undescribeable texture. LOL

Why do you keep trying? Did ya get a boatload of them or something? They do sound dreadful and I will not be trying them anytime soon, thank you very much.

Welcome gardenrooms! We all have our ups and downs so you will be in good company. And there's always room on the wagon again, just in case you fall.

Sorry to hear you aren't having much luck with the whole wheat noodles amazed! I'll be sure to keep that in mind if I should ever think to sneak something like that in on Shiva. Hahaha

CHOCOLATE??? It is indeed a dark day Smedley!

smedley, no chocolate?!!! The horror, the horror...wait maybe that would be a good thing, chocolate is always my down fall ;)
And this sharing a bed is getting a bit old, particularly when two of our cats think it's a novelty to have me sleeping upstairs and one of them will come and sleep in front of my knees or stomach so I have no room between her and the edge of the bed. Then my Mr Feeky-Meow (officially known as Darius) comes in the middle of the night and disgustedly sniffs in my face until I lift the blanket for him to get under and sleep in the crook of my arm.
There has been no toad sightings so far and also no "evidence" (for lack of a nicer word) of it still being in the house, so fingers crossed.

I know what you mean about guys losing weight, it seems they just have to quit drinking soda and they lose 20 kilos.

Lady Starlight that tendon thing is the reason I can't eat more than a small amount of Calamari. Well that and the fact that I start to think about what it is I'm eating :p

Well now that I've written a small essay I will see you all tomorrow for weigh in day.

Yeah men losing weight sucks, DH has vaguely (and I really do mean vaguely!) amended his diet and the weight is falling off him, what the heck is that about? Of course the season has started so he is probably walking 5 miles a day round a theme park but still ;)

Welcome back to the wagon gardenrooms! Sounds like you're in the right place, which is totally the most important thing to start with. Support is forthcoming, the wedding will no doubt be great to keep you on the straight and narrow :)

I am pleased to report the sugar hangover has finished and I feel better again today, although I am slightly depressed about the fact that I may never enjoy chocolate again, it pains me to even say it LOL! Don't officially weigh in till next week, hoping for not too much damage done, and even a small loss still, I was so close to normal too darn it... Oh well onwards and downwards everyone!!

Well I was so excited about them because they sounded too good to be true. So, I bought a package. got themhome washed them as the package says and made them with some broth. Instant URP!
thought I hadnt cooked them long enough.. got a couple other packages of them to practice with.
    Umm.. NOPE!
You can even OVER cook them. You just can't change thier disgusting consistancy. The flavor was ok because it pretty much takes on any flavor you give to them kinda, but chewing and swallowing them inb a whole ordeal in itself! *shudders*
I TRIPLE DOG DARE anyone here to try them and give a report back.
    :D

mickeymeg, thanks for the link. We have something called Barilla Plus that sounds similar, thank you for the reminder about something other than the weird colored whole wheat pasta.

The lasagne was OK. The noodles weren't noticed at all as they kind of mushed into the sauce. I used ricotta and mozzarella and I didn't get the cheezy goodness that I like so much so I need to ditch the ricotta or mix them together or something. Anyone know? The shredded spinach, parsley and zucchini were fine. End of report :)

Tand, LOL! about your kitty. Not so funny in the middle of the night I'm sure but a very cute story. We'll be waiting for daily report on the creepy frog. Hopefully there will be no sightings!

smeds, my sister suffers from migraines and dark chocolate is one of her triggers :( She can have milk chocolate but curbs it just in case. I'm glad you are feeling better!

Hey Marlin, good to "see" you :)

I stayed the same weight this week. It's OK, I'm just hoping to maintain for the next few weeks. I figured out that I have to lose 11 lbs to be "normal" on the Wii Fit. Thinking back I made it to that weight about 5/6 years ago and I did feel good. "Somehow" over the next 5/6 years I put on 32 lbs! What the heck????

    Onward and Downward fellow losers!!!!

Again, my sister doesn't use any oil and says it's fine without it. In weight watchers you are supposed to have 2 tsps. oil a day so I thought I'd get it in here.
