iamsally, hugs for you and your DD and her family. Again, I just can't imagine. What senselessness.

Liberty, I'm glad you are finding sub work!!! Here in CA our DD who has taught in a district for 6 years just found out that she may have to go to another school (bumping another teacher) and our other DD's boyfriend has a brand new teaching credential but there are no jobs to apply for and the sub jobs are very tight depending on district. Hopefully people (in all states and countries) will begin making education a priority again :) So far our son is "safe" in his job because he has a specialty in technology that is being funded by a corp. whew!

Back OT...... one foot in front of the other, right?

So since it was Friday and I had a nice surprising weigh in, I had an extra glass of wine and piece of yummy bread. Both were kinda healthy in the long run BUT it's little slips like that that add up for me. Whenever I weigh good I tend to "treat" myself with food. So I decided to come here and confess to my buddies :) Today we are going to see DS#2 and DIL, check out all the work they've done on their house and go out for dinner. I am going to be SO good!!!

I hope everyone has a good day!

They really do not know. He was not a gang member and was just walking home from Walmart. So it could have been random. But there is speculation that it was on purpose because he wouldn't join or was making them look bad or something like that. I have heard of that kind of thing before.

Oh amazed, we are so much alike. LOL I have not been really good with my food but have been losing anyway so I am like, WOW, whatever works. This morning I was up about half a pound. Could be from any number of things but it worked as a bit of a wake up call. STOP FOOLING YOURSELF AND EAT RIGHT!!!!!!! Which so far today I am doing.

Usually, I just take the calorie count from what should be healthy food and allot it to the treat. So, I miss out on healthy food when I treat myself.

It could very well set me back a few weeks. I will try to fit in extra exercising amongst the big trip we are taking the Brownies on next weekend, a bunch of other year end Brownie events, a couple significant birthdays, Brownie camp and moving this month. I think I will take June off to sleep =)

I am in the zone again, I hope to lose another 5lb I think now, and then probably that will be me happy, well not really because I will have to do a lot of exercise and toning, but at least my weight will be in the right place :)

The treating yourself with food is something I have been guilty of too, I try to use shoes now instead ;D

And I was very naughty on Saturday - I didn't eat much all day (not deliberate, just a crazy day) and by the time I got to the movies at 4.30 I was STARVING. We were having dinner afterwards, but I knew it would be about 7.30 by the time we ate so I bought a packet of chips so I wouldn't be completely starving by the time dinner came. *Really* wished I'd thought ahead and packed a healthy snack so I didn't have to resort to the chips! Especially since the dinner I'd been dreaming of all day and eventually had was carbonara... On the plus side, I stuck to water and didn't try the delicious chocolate fondue that was calling me from the menu :D But anyway, I think I have Saturday to blame for not having a bigger loss this week. That, and the fact that I did very little exercise... I've got a chest infection and didn't want to "push it" too much.

And thanks Amazed, yeah, getting a teaching job can be *tough*!! The relief work seems to be going really well so far, fingers crossed it keeps up. Good luck to your family!

Last time I served our portions of ice cream she litterally chased me out of the kitchen with the carton yelling, "It's low-fat!!" She's in her 80's so we just try to laugh it off.
We respectfully declined several times. Shout out to Rod as bread pudding is one of his favorite things.
I am going to have dessert tonight while we watch TV. But it will be our style.

I know I didn't do myself any favors today. Being Mother's Day, the menfolk in the family made the moms a wonderful lunch/dinner. And you know men...counting calories is not usually their forte', so everything was delicious and fattening! We had a mouthwatering BBQ'd roast beef, a green salad that had EVERYTHING in it( green and yellow peppers, candied pecans, tomatoes, many different greens, thick slices of mushrooms, strawberries, red onion, cucumbers, etc...), fried asparagus with garlic and a creamy mustard sauce, french bread, pasta with a delectable homemade sauce, an assortment of olives and cheeses, salami, capricola, marinated mushrooms. And dessert was coconut creme pie and/or red velvet cake. It was all sooo good! Do you think I'm getting on the scale tomorrow? Not on your life!! I haven't been able to exercise much because of an injury to my back which has caused problems with my legs and knee. So I am doing stretching exercises but they aren't the kind that will rev up the heart or help me lose weight. It wipes me out to go to work. When I get home I am out of it! The doc has me on anti-inflammatories but what happens when I stop those? So, I'm not exactly "in the zone" so to speak. More like way out of it! But tomorrow is another day. And another beginning. I'm starting with a bottled water...right now! =]

iamsally is looking really thin lately...it's very noticable and she is to be commended! She's doing great!

Smedley, I am sooo excited for you! I can only imagine how awesome it was for you to be in the 'normal' zone! I'll do a happy dance in your honor!

Tandelothien and iamsally...I can't understand the violence that has presented itself in the lives of your family. Hugs to the family. And I hope they catch those responsible...and make them pay!

Liberty Belle, the ONLY way I can stave off buying those chips or popcorn or whatever is to always bring something. You are right there. I ALWAYS have a low fat granola bar or packet of almonds in my purse and I have them in my car as well. If I'm going to be running errands and it might go over the lunch hour I bring an apple or peanut butter sandwich on whole wheat bread. They can be made and eaten on the run, no excuses. It's all just getting into different habits. Today is another day :)

DD#2 made me breakfast yesterday but asked me what I wanted. I chose a (actually yummy) lowfat bran/berry muffin mix for her to make and then she cut up some fruit and scrambled eggs. It tasted good and was not too bad for my WW points and we laughed about how things have changed.

I had the choice of dinner and I chose.....drum roll.......no I was not good :p Boudin Bakery clam chowder in a bread bowl with a small side salad of greens. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm11111111

GREAT job iamsally and Rod!!! You guys working as a team really helps.

But I decided to try on some lined dress pants I wore to my daughters wedding 5 years ago. When I first put them on I got them to my knees and that was that. My heart sank...until I realized the zipper was still down! LOL. Sliding the zipper down and... Perfect fit! I was soooo happy. Now what to do about a top...ugh!

Keep up the good work and words of inspiration all!!

After I almost fell over in shock I told it I would not be bothering ;) I am currently 171.5, I am realistically aiming to be just under 170 lol! I will try and get some pictures taken and upload them when I get there, then you can all see just how unrealistic losing another 15lbs would be ;)
