    Whole Chicken
Chicken stock (I use organic but any will work)
    2 Chicken Bouillon Cubes
    Large Onion (chopped)
    Large Green Pepper (chopped)
    Large jar of Medium salsa

    baked tortilla chips
    shredded cheddar cheese

Put chicken in a large soup pout and fill with water to about an inch over the top of the chicken. Add onion, green pepper, and bouillon cubes. Boil over medium heat for about two hours or until the chicken is fully cooked. Remove chicken from pot and debone it. Add chicken pieces back to pot and replace all of the water that boiled down with chicken stock. Add salsa and cook for another 15 minutes.

    To serve:

Fill bowl with soup, crumble tortilla chips on top and add cheese. (you can add other toppings too but I usually just do chips and cheese)

Took everything I had not to call in sick to work today and then go play at Disneyland. And I am still trying not to eat everything with sugar, chocolate, or deep fried that I can get my hands on.

Your right food is not the solution, but it sure feels like a quick fix. And if I thought it would help me in not crying this morning while working, then I would totally be stuffing my face regardless of the consequences.

Truth to tell, at this moment, all I really want to do is curl up in a ball and figure out what was/is so very wrong with me.

You will be in my positive thoughts this weekend. I hope it all starts to turn around for you. IF you do have comfort food, don't be too hard on yourself. Just try not to make a habit.

I've lost 20 lbs since November 1st and want to lose another 60. I certainly don't want to pretend like it will help everyone the way it did me, but what finally worked after everything else failed was reading a book. Michael Pollan's "In Defense of Food." I've never read anything quite like it. And over three or four months, I've now learned to despise fast food and love produce and what Pollan calls "real food" instead of "edible foodlike substances." It's not a diet book; it's a book about how we've changed the way we eat in 100 years and how it's killing us. If you think it could help I'd recommend picking it up.

The other key has been a free calorie counter for my iPhone called "Lose It!" I track everything, and it's taken a few months to finally learn to not be shocked at just how many calories are in some foods and how quickly I burn through them.

The comments here are great and I hope the suggestions can keep me on the wagon :)

So there, I'm kinda on the same mission.
    ;-)

I went to DL yesterday and I swear , as soonas I walkin through the turnstyle, I get that instant feeling of wanting to eat EVERTHING that I'm going to pass that's delicious down Main St!
OMGosh, I walked up and down Main St yesterday pretty much talking tomyself about , why I shouldn't eat anything there. The whole time I was walking in and out of shop's, I was giving myself pep talks about eating healthy vs unhealthy food. I almost collapsed in a heap of drool when I passed my beloved APA's in the candy shop.
The smell's were so overwhelming (even moreso when your trying to behave)
down Main St with such scrumdillyumptiousness it was almost painful. LOL!
I didn't eat anything while I was there though and I am so proud of myself for that. But man O man was it ever a hard challange! WHEW!

Welcome, ecdc! I haven't read Pollan's books in their entirety (too scared) but totally believe in his message. Once you realize how gross that stuff is, it's much easier to give it up.

I bought a really sexy red dress last night. This is something I have NEVER done before so I'm feeling really good about it. Of course, the hunt is on for the appropriate undergarments needed to flatten, smooth and squish. LOL (Breathing is for wussies.)

We're going to see The Atomic Bombshells (burlesque) on Feb. 12th in Seattle. It'll be our Valentine's Day celebration together (w/o the kid). I can't wait to wear the new dress!

So not only did my fiancé break it off with me last night (although we are still living together at the moment) he went onto a dating site to actively look for someone new this morning! I am so stunned that I feel like Alice down the rabbit hole.

As was pointed out to me earlier, it is better to know all this stuff prior to walking down the aisle. But WOW...my mind is so blown right now, my emotions so raw...and look, it is still only 10am! What more can this day bring???
