I love exercise when I am doing it. Just getting up and moving makes me so happy. And I am charged up after. But I can get so out of the habit and just sit on the couch. Sounds so lame to say it but it is so true. Heads up everybody and let's get back on track.

I have a good handle on what my meals should consist of and now exercise for life She was pleased and a little shocked with my weight. I'm wondering if she was looking at my weight since the "beginning" or just my November weight but whatever. It's pouring rain here right now so no walk this morning. I guess I'll "step it up" with the Wii Fit a bit longer Oh, about dieting in my 50's vs other times I've never been able to lose weight quickly, DH has. Now I can lose the weight (not quickly) but not in the places that I care to and the tummy blub is not moving anywhere. DH is now finally (to my secret delight not just skipping an ice cream sundae and losing 2 lbs. He's more in line with what I'm going through. Maybe we have seriously become the same person Have a great day everyone!

The *ZONE* feels great. Congrats amazed. Less meds is always a good thing.

The hare got off to a zippy pace and seemed sure to win. But he didn't, did he? The tortoise, while naturally much slower than the hare, kept moving steadily toward the finish line and was able to cross first. What's the take-home message of this fable? Slow and steady wins the race. To reach your weight-loss goals, you need to switch from the hare's mind-set to that of the tortoise. In other words, you must break the "all or nothing" mentality. Do you start diets with superhuman resolve — determined to eschew temptation and work out seven days a week — only to fall off the wagon and give up hope? Such an approach to anything — especially to your health — can be very appealing, even motivating. But I'm telling you right now that overreaching the most dangerous way to set out. Human beings are imperfect. When you do skip a workout or give in to temptation (something we all do), you're more likely to throw in the towel. So start thinking like a tortoise. Pace yourself. Have a slice of pizza and take a day off now and then, but don't stray too far from the path that will lead you to your goals.

I planned to stay home yesterday so I decided to put on my looser jeans. These are the jeans that I couldn't pull on in December 08 and hadn't been wearing but needed an extra pair for our trip to DLR. They were the catalist to finally get serious about the weight. I've pretty much gone down a size from these jeans but have been wearing them off and on.
