I have done camp without binging but it is hard. There is always food around and growing up we were pretty much taught that eating was most of the fun. I have learned better but I still goof up sometimes.

I am here to tell you each, you are not alone and you CAN do it. You CAN!

Yeah, we have lollipops and then lollies are all sorts of gummy candy. Although you guys sometimes call chocolate "candy", don't you? We never call chocolate lollies... that's the only real difference I think! Yeah, I will be a little more thoughtful next week and go for portion control. Because I'm anticipating it, I'm trying to be a little better in the lead-up. I've done a little form up on the computer where I've written "dessert", "soft drink" (soda...?) and things like that, and various types of exercise. I'm allowed have dessert twice a week, I tick when I have it and that's it until the following Sunday. Then I tick the type of exercise I did that day. I know I really shouldn't be having dessert twice a week, but if I try to limit myself too much I end up going crazy and eating the kitchen table (it's happened before...), so I'm better off using the "everything in moderation" strategy. Anyway, it's only my first week using the form system but I'm liking it so far. I like the idea about the different sides! I'm going to try that I think (not on Sunday though... unfortunately, the friend I'm dining with on Sunday has terrible eating habits and won't touch anything green!!) DVC Dad, big congrats on the weight loss and marathon... and sally, I'm very jealous! I'd give anything for my Wii Fit to tell me I was normal! I just stepped off mine actually... got home from work exhausted and straight away had a nap for about an hour. Woke up at 5 and headed out and used the Wii Fit for half an hour. Did the Free Step (why are all those people in an audience watching someone step 1600 times? That's not fun!) and some yoga and then my favourite, Soccer Heading, as my "treat" at the end. Not sure if it was the nap, the exercise or a combo but I feel much better now! Sorry for the loooong post!

Weigh in on Monday, still crossing my fingers I will have undone most of the damage by then

I just keep bouncing around it. Another day another commitment. We have a week-end camp this week and will be hiking and such. And the cook makes wonderful, healthy food. People always donate lots of vegetables. So I think we will do well.
Originally Posted By tashajilek "I never seem to lose more after hitting the normal." That was my problem too, but i kept thinking i should lose more and more. I think the normal may be what you are supposed to weigh with being healthy. Sure anyone can lose more but it may not be realistic to stay at such a low weight. Iamsally, sounds like you are doing very well and have fun hiking!

I finally lost me last 4 lbs of my 5 lb goal but lost is not in a healthy way. Caught some sort of nasty gunky thang that took my 4 lbs in the first 3 days. The antiboitics and time are helping to recover strength but very slowly. Still have no voice after 8 days of this. The good news is I am patient and persistant. I eat well but can't eat much. Too hot here (100+'s)and not much appetite yet. *I am hoping not to gain them back as I want to work on 5 more buy slowly* I am holed up in my cave and furry friends & only excercise I get is watering the yard which does take some work. And of course home duties have not be abondoned. Am going to miss the meets in July and so wish I could be there to play with you who are attending the festivities. My DD dlf8 & GS Codeman will have to soak up enough fun for me too. Keep up the good work all!!♥GJ

Sorry you have been sick geniesjoy. Rod and I both came down with colds the second night at camp. Even so, we got up at dawn for the Sunrise Rock hike. Now we are at home trying to shake it. We are much better today so it seems to be leaving. Lots of echineacea and green tea. As to the *normal*. I am at the very tip top of the normal range. I would like to hover in the middle. Don't feel the urge to be skinny anymore. (I was anorexic a long time ago in a galaxy far far away.) I just do not feel right yet. It is so easy to slack off as soon as it seems acceptable. So I will keep coming here if only to keep off what I have lost. And hopefully to lose a bit more in a slow healthy way. Good job Schmitty. Get to that upper body. That is one of my weaknesses and we have made a vow to get to the gym and work on that.
