I have been loosely tracking this weekend and trying to make better choices. Thanksgiving dinner is tomorrow night, Mon. the 11th, and it will be super yummy so I am going to just have to practice portion control and will power and stay away from second helpings. Then go for as many runs this week as I possibly can. Wish me luck.

I must do better on the weekends

I also really noticed the difference in how easily I was able to run around everywhere with just about 12lbs lost since my last visit in January, and I'm fairly happy with the photos, although I've cringed at a couple. Still, I was the lightest I've been for a Disney trip since '05 (although still a fair bit heavier than that visit) so the photos were a welcome relief compared to some of the more recent ones! I'm still not 100% back into my routine, but I'm improving by the day... have to get back into it properly! Keep up the good work, everyone!

At least that way I will feel healthy too, I do wonder sometimes if I must have felt yucky all the time before I started this program? It's amazing what a difference knowing how good I feel with good eating has made to my awareness of how I feel when I eat badly! So I started today on track, I need to get my lunch/dinner part made soon, as I have my first meeting with my personal trainer this afternoon to put a 10 week plan in place, I am really looking forward to having that kind of motivation going on! (You know the kind where you're paying for it so you do it ) Keep at it everyone, Happy Thanksgiving Meg!

Boy it brought back memories and now your post brought back more. We had/have 4 kids and juggled at least 3 sports/clubs/activities at a time and man, dinners were rough. I feel for you. A suggestion, how about looking on each fast food website for nutrition facts now. Find a "healthier" option and write it down. Then when you are faced with choices you know what you should order. Doesn't always work but I've been able to shave quite a bit of fat and calories off my usual choices by just tweaking them Good job at staying away from the muffins and bagels!!!! Liberty Belle, I'll bet you really felt those 12 lbs lost walking around DLR! LOL! about the photos, I know just what you mean. smeds, are you at least drinking your water Sorry I couldn't resist. You are so going to finish this now. A personal trainer will keep your momentum going for sure. I was fairly successful at the BBQ yesterday. Just a dab of homemade potato salad (you know, didn't want to insult the hostess and a small burger and some salad. Good luck with today everyone, we can do this!

Originally Posted By smedley Went for a biomechanical assessment this morning to figure out what was happening with my knee for the personal trainer I am going to start working with next week. The guy I saw is a leg sports injury specialist and also a podiatrist/chiropodist. So I went expecting to find out stuff about my right leg (the injured one) and I did. I have scarring on my medial ligament, which indicates there was damage to that during the accident too, I have early stages of osteo-arthritis in the knee too, so he has given me a whole list of supplements to take to deal with those issues. However the real surprise (and a contributing factor to how slow my knee is healing) is that I have an issue with my good leg It seems that my left leg is a tiny bit shorter than my right one, but my hips are aligned (apparently that's a great thing) but to compensate I apparently kick out my left heel as I walk, because of the issue with that my right knee is pro...bably taking longer to heal because I've always had to compensate for the other leg (not knowingly obviously) anyway to make a long story even longer, the fix is to have orthotic insoles moulded and to wear them in all my shoes, it will stop the problem, and should also make it easier to get the other knee better. Been out and sorted out the supplements and started taking those this afternoon, go back to be fitted for the insoles early next week. Interestingly it seems that I am not the massive klutz we always thought I was, the specialist said the issue with my left leg means that my balance will never have been right and that's why I fall over so much! Anyways not 100% the news I was looking for, but he's happy that if I take the tablets, and work out with Simon, and wear the orthotics, that it's more than manageable, and I will be able to go skiing in January Oh and the diet is totally on track

But when I am honest with myself I know if I am doing right. And I feel pretty good so far. Hopefully the scale will bear that out when I get home.

I have found that the cookies are not all that great now that they have taken the transfat or whatever out of them so no need to go there We of course are doing a TON of walking and I am being thoughtful ie, skipping the fries so I can eat the french bread, skipping the bacon and breakfast potatoes so I can have ice cream See, thoughtful We have randomly run into the Clones, who found Tand and Fowley and then ran into Tand and Fowley again yesterday

I weighed again and have lost another 200g this week (half a pound), not a lot but I'm amazed I'm still losing, I thought my overindulgence would have caught up with me by now. I'm feeling good though! Maybe I've gotten away with it Also I'm wearing a shirt today that I bought in January and it hasn't fitted properly until now, that's always a good feeling! Good to hear everyone's stories, very inspiring!
