They look all healthy and delicious with their bran and fruit and pumpkin and nuts and seeds and all manner of healthy good stuff, then you look closely at the fat content (or weight watchers point value if you are like me) and they are super super high. Good grief.

Smedley, Wow you got alot of info about your knee. I have not been on here long so I was not aware you had a knee problem. I have an old ankle injury that causes me pain and it is so frusterating. I could run a mile and be fine but get out of the car wrong and be limpig the rest of the day? I hope the insoles work:)

I agree muffins are EVIL, evil I tell you. I was just looking at those last night and the cupcakes have less caloreies? I have given up all manner of baked goods, quite depressing though as I love them all, probably my weakness. I was trying to figure out if I could make a healthy donut but really you cant....it has to be fried in oil to taste like a donut otherwise it is just bread:)

Good news I am finally seeing results after 1 and a half months of exercize. I have lost 11 lbs and 5 inches off my waist. Using Calorie count ap for iphone and trying to stay under 1200 calories a day is helping.

Trying to work up the nerve to have my bloodwork done as my cholesterol has been high in the past. I will do it before the end of the year since my deductable has been met:)

Now, when I make, them I use the mini muffin pans. As long as I am on track I can do fine on those.
Will let you all know how these two weeks of vacation have fared. Will be going home Thursday.

Anyways, the bad news is I am 45% body fat!!! OMG and after losing all the weight too, my hydration is also poor, but apparently that's not due to not drinking enough, we all know I drink water like it's going out of fashion, but because the fat blocks the water absorption *sigh*

Anyway the exercise is going to sort the problem out, teamed with the eating right. Plan is to fix the knee up for skiing in January and work on the body fat as well as that. It all sits round my stomach and waist (I could have tld him that without a tape measure lmao) and he tells me that by the time I go skiing we're going to have knocked 5 inches of my stomach and 4 inches off my waist. I can't even remember the last time my waist was that small, I can't wait :D

My mom is in the hospital, she is 86 with heart and breathing problems and was overmedicated. She is being monitored and is where she needs to be. I'm just mentioning this because I did GREAT yesterday! Brought my water, sandwich and some almonds and was not tempted by the hospital snack machines :) I didn't stress eat! Dinner we did get Wendys but I the "tweaked" the chili salad and feel good about that.

Smedley, I had no idea fat blocked water absorption... I drink water like crazy and on my last dr apt they said I was dehydrated (mildly) and I couldnt understand how I could possibly drink more water with out staying near the bathroom all day. Good to know.

I am pleased to report I seem to have hit the zone again, I know I said I thought working with the trainer would do it for me, but it's nice to know it has! Fingers crossed eating right and working with the trainer twice a week will mean I see good results soon!

Hope you get quick results with the trainer Smedley, I have been doing pretty good on the exercise but keeing to my 1200 calorie s has been a bit of a challenge since my daughter's basketball season has started. Gone for games pretty much all day every Saturday. Planning is key but I am getting tired of almonds and hard boiled eggs :)

How about some low fat cheese spread triangles and crackers with raw veggies as an alternative?

Yes we keep drinking more water and as the fat % drops then the hydration will improve.

Sounds like you are rolling right along Smed. Interesting about the fat and hydration. I have always had too much fat for my size.
Trip report is not bad. I was 134 this morning which is just up a little. That is normal vacation water that will be gone in a day or two. I was worried it might be more cuz I was not very careful and did not exercise enough. The zoo and Leavonworth helped with all the walking.
Back to the grind of getting into the 120's.

Well I am all the way in the zone and feeling fine, and very motivated. Down a couple of lbs since Thursday, and happy about it. Nightshifts weekend, hoping (work permitting) to get down the gym tonight, well 4.30am, to do a bit of a workout. Next session with the trainer is Tuesday afternoon at 3, then I have another on Thursday at 2 :) Hopefully those results will start to show soon too. We will do body fat and measurements again in 3 weeks, I am looking forward to it :)

I went to the nutritionist today and she is pleased with me AND I've lost 4 lbs since I saw her a month ago :)

ore, I'm not much of a baker anymore. If I was going to make muffins with applesauce I'd google for a recipe :) iamsally, that is a GREAT idea to use 1/2, makes sense.

Whoo hoooooo for smeds for being in the zone!

Keep up the good work everyone :) We can do this.

Will let you all know how these muffins turn out. hoping I can find a WW resipe that will give me calorie info as well.

I have been running on my treadmill as the weather has suddenly changed to winter up here, snow on the hills and all. Not as bad as I remember I actually look forward to it. I think weight wise I have been at a plateaue for the past week or two, but hoping to see results soon :)

For anyone on WW have a look at these blogs for recipe ideas.

I use them quite often and have found some great ideas. Right now I am loving the pumpkin recipes on skinnytaste. I highly recommend the pumpkin crepes or latte. Yum
