As soon as the announcement was made what David A's last song was, I was done. Been there, heard that...wasn't impressed the first time.
Maybe during the course of the show I should have tried to just listen to David A. sing and he might not have annoyed me as much. I didn't like the way he always looked like he was in pain while he was performing.

I didn't think that was the case at all. In fact, they went out of their way to say nice things about him and to him. But it was just no question that David A. was blowing Cook out of the water. Arch wanted to perform his material, while Cook just wanted to stand there and sing. He sings great, but at this stage something more is needed. Arch had it.

Hmmmmmmmmm. Simon made a point of apologizing to David Cook tonight. He said that his comments of last night bordered on being "disrespectful."

THE DIVA appears on the finale of AI '08!

Sure, it's all about product placement.

But, MAN, this is a GREAT product!

Donna's first album in 17 years, "Crayons," hit the shelves yesterday.

The CD is WELL worth picking up! The Queen is back -- and better than ever!

And it's way appropriate that Donna appeared on AI. It's a reminder that true talent wins out. Thirty years ago, there were HEAPS of artists scoring disco hits. And now... there's Donna -- still strong, sounding amazingly fresh, and showing that she's a singer whose reach is WAY bigger than disco.

So, while the contestants were singing Donna's songs all I could think was "somewhere, wherever he is, TDLFAN's ears are bleeding".

No-one has answered my question. Is there a significant consequential difference for coming in #1 vs. #2?

Both Davids were awarded free gas-guzzlers tonight.

The winner gets a guaranteed record contract, right? But the other David will certainly receive one, too.

    So does it really matter?

In their series of appearances prior to The Announcement, was it always Cook who made what appeared to be a sincere gesture of appreciating the other David?

Perhaps David A was a young deer who was blinded by the lights. Perhaps he was afraid of his father beating the crap out of him if he took a mis-step. But in any event, David C came off as the much more... well... GRACIOUS contender who made a point of acknowledging the talent of his competitor.
