Maybe two or three decades. And then the church elects a new Pope, and maybe he is like Ratzinger again. Maybe he's to Ratzinger's right, virulently opposed to women holding positions of authority and violently opposed to homosexuality. Or maybe the new pope ordains women and there is another schism. That this Pope seems concerned about the poor and the appearance of wealth and power on the part of priests is a very good things. But he is just the guy in the chair until the next Pope comes along. Until doctrine and policy change, this is just PR to bring liberal and educated Catholics back to the pews.
