A wee bit of me wishes I could have flowers on my china like normal people, but it just wouldn't match and I love serving on my current china, so there you go. Oh, that's the other thing I wanted to say. I find that prices are better on eBay for my china than on Replacements, although Replacements carry the really rare stuff. Our pattern was stopped in the 60's so it's a hoot to find. It's kinda of of our other hobby.

It says Limoges A.F. France but there is no other name. I went through 299 images on Replacements. This is the one I found that was closest... <a href="http://www.replacements.com/webquote/LIMLIM241.htm" target="_blank">http://www.replacements.com/we bquote/LIMLIM241.htm</a> In the meantime, I'm learning a lot about Limoges and how it was made and imported and sometimes decorated in the States.

I've gotten some helpful info here myself. LOL. And, as usual, I love Ursula's humorous and very wise words. She would be really good at helping write an advice column or something. I wanna play too so here is what my pattern looks like: <a href="http://www.replacements.com/webquote/N__HAL.htm" target="_blank">http://www.replacements.com/we bquote/N__HAL.htm</a> Now, I admit I'm a bit partial but I think my china is much prettier in person than this picture shows. LOL. We chose it because we both really liked the style of the cup and saucer. I still remember how "grown-up" and proud I felt when I opened that first wedding gift box with china which kinda surprised me because I never thought I'd really be one to care about things like china and stuff like that but I did. And then my grandmother gave me her china which her mother had given her and I was just absolutely speechless. Being given grandma's china was a very, very special thing to me because I knew my grandma grew up dirt poor in the depression. I have NO idea how my great grandmother came to have this china and I only ever saw my grandmother use it once or twice at Thanksgiving. The rest of the time I think she she kept it all hidden away for fear of "losing" the one precious thing she had. My grandmother's pattern is Noritake Champlain but the pattern is so old that the Champlain they show at Replacements.com is not the same one I have. I hope I can find a picture 'cause I'd love to show you guys. Maybe I'll take a picture and post it if I can't find it. I loved looking at the patterns you guys have shared! Thanks. And best wishes for the wedding. I am sooo impressed with all the planning and stuff you've already finished!

It was Darkbeer's Mom's and he got it from her for my birthday. Here's my crystal: <a href="http://www.replacements.com/webquote/NC_BAM.htm" target="_blank">http://www.replacements.com/we bquote/NC_BAM.htm</a> Cool story: My Dad had gotten a set for my Mom when he was in Japan as before they were married. My Mom recently downsized into an apartment, so she had been sending me the crystal bit by bit. Darkbeer was here when I opened some before Christmas last year. Shortly after Christmas, his Mom decided she wanted to get rid f her crustal and offered it to him to give to me. He wasn't goong to take it until she started describing it and realized that it soinded very similar to my crystal. He took a look at it and wasn't sure it was an exact match, but thought it would at least blend nicely with what I had. When I opened it, it was the exact same pattern. Between what I gotten from my Mom and his Mom, I have service for anywhere form 12 to 32 depending on the piece.

And Deogges Mom made me think...guess I better start looking for some nice crystal to add to the registry, to go with the china )

We needed some spoons, and they went back in the storage area, and came out about five minutes later with four of the exact kind that we needed. Why can't every place be that easy?

I'm in shell shock now about the price. I got the Victoria & Beale dirt cheap on sale. When we chose our pattern before our wedding, my mother decided that she was going to finally get her choice of dishes, too. So, yep, you guessed it. We both chose the same pattern without discussing it with each other, lol. So now I have service for 36. I told my kids if they don't like the pattern to sell it to a caterer ;-) My next door neighbor has the same exact pattern, too. Weird, as it's not a very common color. I never picked out crystal and don't have any even though I love crystal and glass. Seems like if you don't get it when you get married or starting out (you obviously don't have to be married) you just don't put it as a priority to acquire.
