You provided a list of gaffes that is pretty much typical of all campaigns.

The lack of campaign events was based on the pre-Christmas polls. No one on either side predicted that Brown could turn Tea Party appearances into widespread enthusiasm.

You can list a number of gaffes on the Brown side as well, but the loser gets all the criticism. In this case, I think the criticism is too harsh. There is certainly a lot of hindsight that can be applied, but prior to the holidays no one was saying that Coakley was doing anything wrong.

    Wow, that's depressing.

Seems as though a dogged Republican talking point as simplistic as "it stinks, and you don't need to know why so we'll change the reason every time it suits us depending on the question posed", works well.

Baffle em with B.S. as a political weapon. Who knew?

She said she wasn't familiar with the bill but was sure it wasn't the direction this country needed to be heading. The host asked again if there were any specific reasons. She couldn't name any. Then the host asked if she was comfortable with 34 million people not getting access to health care if the bill is tabled. She said she didn't believe that figure was correct becasue everyone she knows has health care. It was depressing to listen to.

I wish I could have asked her if she realized that Medicaid already gives poor people health care and if she understood that health insurance reform is fixing the problem with people who have jobs and financial means from being denied access to care.
