Something else that isn't apparent from the commercials: the sleep number is relative at least in part to a person's weight. So, for example, 45 on my side of the bed isn't the same as the 45 on his side. When you get the bed, you have to sort of calibrate it. Inflate it to 100, then get on it and try different numbers to see what fits best for you. As gottaluvdavillains pointed out, the parts are changeable. We have had occasion to contact their customer service for issues with the air pump, and we found them very easy to deal with. Another bonus: If you move, there's no mattress to haul! We are seriously considering a Sleep Number sofa bed for our guest room.
