Our country was founded on fundamentalist Evangelical Christian principles. George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, all linked arms and skipped off to church (in a very non-gay, uber-masculine way, of course) to speak in tongues and hear discourse on the evils of sexuality and the supremacy of American democracy. The sooner you realize that, the better.
