I'm pretty positive it was supposed to be Charmaine Bucco, because he has hinted a few times that he kindof wanted a real thing with her. In his "Other" life, she would be his wife.

I think what's important is that it's not Carmela.

I thought it was Gloria myself (she was in last seasons dream as his shrink).

I can't say for sure who it is, but I know who it isn't, and that's Edie Falco. I've heard her
give a ton of interviews without her "accent" and she doesn't sound too different. That
was definitely not Falco on the phone.

BTW, I came to that conclusion on my own watching the show Sunday night, and only checked out IMDB now to check if there was any way to prove who it was.

It sounds NOTHING like Edie Falco. I was so irritated with the whole dream sequence thing, I was ready to turn the channel at 9:10, until it showed him in the coma and Carmella by his side.

I guess the whole dream sequence was supposed to be what his life would be like if he had never joined the mob. I guess there are a few ways this could go. When they first showed the dream sequence, and then at the end the Dr. told him he had alzheimers, I thought oh please don't tell me that everything in the past that happened was an alternate "dream" life and that he really was a business man with alzheimers. But I can't see them doing that.

Then my friend jokingly said "What if Tony is really Uncle Junior with alzheimers" and I don't find that a very good way to go at all.

BTW, it was the same voice each time, so it was either Edie Falco every time, or some other woman every time. As I said, I'm positive it wasn't Edie Falco.

"The voice of Purgatory Tony's wife wasn't played by Annabella Sciorra, or any other actress who's been on the show before; she's just a generic non-Carmela female voice. "

    Truly, I'm not joking-

okay, it isn't like I have a lot of details but here goes- there's a local L.A. TV writer who has seen the first four episodes. He's not unique, because a lot of critics have, they just aren't as blabby. Apparently the dream sequence will continue, and some issues regarding Tony Soprano will be resolved. He does, however, survive, at least through the first four episodes.

But HBO, speaking to the New York Post, says it's none of the above. The actress on the phone, they say, is "not famous enough" to be identified by Sopranos fans.<
