Do you think Carmela realized Paulie and that other guy were unhappy about giving her the money? She seemed greatful, but then she watched them get into the elevator and she got a funny look on her face.

Christopher's idea for a movie was very funny.....I loved when he said to Tony that he "owed" him that much. Do you think he would have said that had Tony been completely lucid (sp?)

Very good scene with the "family reunion" and Steve Buscemi. I was wondering if they would have the "go into the light" scene when his heart stopped. Who was the woman he saw in the doorway? I only saw the back of her. Was it supposed to be his mother? Is she dead?

I was a little upset that I still don't understand the whole dream sequence...why he had a different name and a different family. The young girl's voice in the trees was his dream sequence daughter, right? And it was actually Meadow calling him back, but he heard the voice as his dream sequence younger daughter?

Did he dream about the monks because one of his Dr's looked like one of the monks in the dream? Was there supposed to be significance with the dream sequence, or was it just the dreams of a man in a coma/near death?

What was the name of the guy everyone confused him with? I wonder if there is significance (maybe outside of Sopranos) to that name?

Also, isn't the supposed to be the final season??? Wouldn't HBO list that instead of the "new season"? I don't know, I noticed it last night, but maybe I'm reading into it too much.

I was glad to see in the previews Tony talking about the business. I'm glad he seems like he will make a decent recovery, although in the previews he will still be in the hospital.

Yes, she's dead, and that's who I think it was.

The final season is being split in two, with the first 12 episodes now and the remaining 8 at the beginning of next year.

Some Soprano fan friends of mine were talkin one night and one of them actually liked episode 2, he pointed out all kinds of symbolisms and such, many which I sorta figured, but must admit he made me realise more when he explained his take. The basics of it is Tony was in limbo between life/death [which I got] he pointed out the light that Tony kept seeing, like from the helicopter, is the white light that people claim to see when they are leaving this life.

The debate about his wife & family on the phone being Carm... that issue seems to be resolved here now but that was one thing I was quite positive of before, that it was NOT supposed to be Carm, that is the whole thing of this dream sequence, he is not himself he is someone else.

    >>"What was the name of the guy everyone confused him with? I wonder if there is significance (maybe outside of Sopranos) to that name?"<<

Kevin Finnity.., supposed to be a play on words... kevIN_FINITY "infinity"

Season 06 episode 03 was not all that much better than 2, but not the sleeper that 02 was, at least we see Tony coming of his coma and the preview clips show his normal angry self coming out [THAT's the Tony I love o watch] I was confused in this Episode a bit, I never before saw Sil as wanting to take over, I figured many other would make a play. One of those whom I also NEVER see moving up is Paulie, he's too sloppy and doesnt have the brains. I kinda liked that cousin Tony [Steve Beschemi] was in the end of episode 3, but not as cousin Tony, he was credited as "man". Oh and yes I figured that the lady Tony saw in the doorway was his mother. As for Christopher's movie biz scheme, I have a feeling that is gunna tick Tony off to no end and have more significance later on. I got a kick outta Paulie in this episode. Med tells him to be positive while visiting Tony and the first thing he does is freak out in negativity. THEN he whines constantly about him getting kicked in the groin, and Tony is in a friggon coma for Pete's sake, and his whining raises his blood pressure to arrest levels, sheesh Paulie.

I have some theories, I think AJ is gunna go off the deep end. I think those closer to John are gunna make a move, especially now since Chrissy did this movie business thing.

The Infinity thing is a good thought, but I also have been waiting for some connection between the Kevin Finnity name and Finn, Meadow's boyfriend, especially since the real Finnity is from Southern California and Finn is from there. Who knows?

Overall, I've liked all three episodes. I used to be a T.A. for an organized rcime class at U.C. Irvine back in the early 80's. As far as I know, not too many real mob bosses go into therapy and are so conflcited about the Life as Tony Soprano is when he talks to Dr. Melfi. He's been in therapy since Season 1. For me anyway, the dream sequences are a natural progression of the psychological apsect of the overall story line. Tony's had symbolic dreams all through the series. Now that he's been in a coma, his subconscious is running rampant. Makes sense if that's how his id internalizes all the stress and conflict in his life.

When we came out of it, their "look" was a feeling of greedy regret. Then when they did give it her they made sure to make a big deal out of it... to gain points.

IMO what Carm was probably supposed to be thinking or conveying was disgust after realizing what was truly in their hearts. They came giving her a spiel about how much they care and "it's what we do... we would want the same for our own family... yada yada." Then they walk away sulking, she realised it was not a sincere offering out of charity, but rather... a somewhat less than willing obligation. I think she picked up that and reflected on how the family business actually operates.

I think that also ties into what this season is about... change. Tony & Carmela are back together, Carm has been very loving and caring, which is understandable, her mate of many years just went through a life threatening situation. But even before uncle Jun shot Tony, they seemed to have a much different relationship than previous seasons, and after receiving the money the episode closes with her setting it down [like people leave envelopes with $200K laying around all the time?] then tending to Tony, comforting him and wiping his lips with a damp swab saying "it's the little things that matter"

Personally I dont think her plan is to tell Tony that Paulie or Vito cant be trusted. Number one it's not her place [and she DOES know her place] She may point out as she has many times in the past that their respect and admiration for Tony is phoney, that they dont love him, they fear him. <-- that's what *I* think the "look" was about.

^^I think in a preview my mother saw Carmela does actually tell Tony to watch those two. We'll see. Not sure if it was a preview for this week. She said it wasn't the preview at the end of last week's show, it was a regular commercial for the Sopranos on HBO.

“The Fleshy Part of the Thighâ€
"Tony and Johnny Sack haggle over Barone Sanitation’s future; Paulie is rocked by an aunt’s revelation."

    Predictions;
From the preview, I remember something about Paulie saying "keep this just between us" Maybe it's about Paulie possibly being adopted and possibly not being Italian? That would be messy cuzz any mob show fan worth his salt knows that only pure Italians can be "made" and Paulie is a made guy. This could shake up Paulie's world on many levels cuzz Paulie has always been a mama's boy, and in the last 2 episodes we are reminded a lot how much Paulie cares about "ma" In a previous episode we learn that Paulie has an aunt who is a nun, many nuns, especially in the 50's and 60's worked orphanages and hospitals, it would surely fit that his aunt helped place a child with an adopted mother, like maybe her sister?[his ma]

I like Paulie, to me he's a true wise guy, he may be a blunderer sometimes, but I dig him [especially when exposes that he's not all that bright] I hope this doesnt put a damper on his character.

Paulie cracks me up. He's really digging himself in deep. I was glad Tony tried telling him that he shouldn't feel the way he does. I understand this whole thing is a shock to him, but I'm assuming he loved and adored the woman he thought was his mother for a reason. I'm assuming she raised him well. She doesn't deserve to be abandoned now, even though he is upset at being lied to. So it seems like he is going to use the $4000 from that guy he beat up at the end (sorry, I'm terrible with names aside from Tony, Carmela, Meadow and AJ) to pay for this "aunt's" nursing home?

How long do you think it will take for Tony to find out Paulie beat him up, after Tony told his mother he would be OK?

And Carmela warned Tony about Paulie and Vito. I think we are going to see some good action!

    spoiler warning....

I guess my other prediction about Paulie's family issue was right on, with an added whopper about his nun aunt Dottie.

[sigh] Paulie Paulie Paulie, I was sorta feelin bad for him, but he is over reacting and being a jerk, just when I thought he was calming down and maybe being rational, he'd go off and do something stupid again. I think I am being set for something good though. Paulie is gunna go off on someone in the family, and when he does, I'm gunna enjoy it. Remember, Carm warned Tony about Vito, not Paulie, I see Paulie and Vito in a fight <-- my prediction.

[I'm rootin for Paulie, I despise Vito]

It sorta goes against my grain since I love Tony for being a hard core, but since this is the last season I liked that he seems to be intrigued with the spiritual life. I was flabbergasted [but pleased] that he closed his eyes and prayed with the evangelical, AND he made the sign of the cross and said Amen [the Catholic part me needed that]

I really liked Hal Holcomb's guest appearance as the rocket scientist, his wise character resonated this episode. I kinda wanted Tony to go say goodbye to him as he was leaving the hospital, of course it was more in his character to skip it, but we got the feeling that Tony felt for the guy.

The title of last nights show was “The Fleshy Part of the Thigh†and we learn why when Bobby meets the aspiring rapper and in his infinite wisdom, his idea to promote him is to shoot him to give him some street credibility. I could not help laughing out loud when he actually did it.

    great episode!
