It was nice to see the old Tony again and be finished with the purgatory dream/coma scenes.

Tony is not going to be happy when he finds out Paulie beat up that kid, was his name Frankie?

I'm gunna like when he gets beat soon.

We were talkin about how I used to hate Ralphie but that was changing, just as I started sorta liking Ralphie, they offed him. He pointed out that Paulie is becoming like a "Ralphie" doing things that Ralphie would do... like the rage at Ma's and beating the Barrone sanitation kid after Tony gave his word that nothing would happen to him. I'm afraid Paulie's days are numbered.

BTW he asked me what song was playing at the end. I remembered and it is a perfect Sopranos song [as well as being a cool song in general] It is Pink Floyd's "one of these days" which has short, but fitting lyrics for a show like Sopranos. [for their disposal practices]

It's very possible we don't need to put up with him much longer.

All in all, a weird episode.

As for Vito, I'm pretty sure we'll still be seeing him for a while. I think Chase is trying to fool us into thinking something. If if it's what I think you are thinking STP, I dont think he went through with it.

Yeah, could be. Never take anything for granted with this show. On the other hand, Tony made mention of his absence the next time they were all in the backroom of Satriale's. It could be he kills himself, killed the guys that saw him, or someone unknown third option.

#1. Gene already shocked us with suicide, that is so out of character IMO for a wise guy, having it done twice in one season is not likely, but who knows?

#2. It seems to me that Vito's character is too valuable right now to lose him in 5 short episodes, him killing himself would not be all that sensational. It seemed to me that Vito and Paulie were heading for some sort of confrontation, and it was my prediction that one of them was not going to come out of it alive, but that plot seems to be fading. Then there is the friction with him and Finn, I thought maybe something would happen causing commotion with Finn & Meadow [anybody notice Med acting weird about Finn?] Overall, I think they are using Vito's character and storyline to build up to something, and it's not ripe enough yet to harvest his outcome.

#3. I've been watching Sopranos from the gate and and one thing I've learned is that Chase and crew tend to try to trick us by leading us into thinking we know where the story is going by diverting us, then taking it somewhere else entirely. The Vito in a motel by himself staring at a gun ploy is just too predictable.

That's what I thought would happen.

Also, in the previews, we saw Christopher saying to Tony "you're not going to believe this", although that may not necessarily be about Vito.

    SPOILER ALERT:

If you haven't seen the show and don't wanna know, dont read the following...

As I expected Vito didn't commit suicide as they seemed to try to make us think he might be contemplating. However he is on the run and somehow they make me start feeling for the guy. [yuck] I am intrigued that Tony is taking an objective approach to the Vito situation, in fact it seems he is the only one that is willing to stand up for him at this point, I think even Vito's cousin Silvio would advocate getting rid of Vito, Phil Leotardo, Vito's wife's cousin would surely do it.

The continuing theme of "If weakness is shown people think they have an opportunity" is still evident. It has been in every episode this season. In my opinion, that's what this season is about, Tony is conflicted because he has finally come to a place of maturity and sensibility and would like to manage his life and business differently, but the old school way of their business will not allow that. This week, Vito has been outted and the whole family wants him gone because they are afraid of what that might do to their reputation, Tony seems that he would like to keep Vito, and screw what others think, but he knows that is a difficult thing to pull off in their world.

I was much intrigued with Angie doing biz with the crew, I think it is a hint of what's upcoming. Carm is obviously jealous that Angie is now "one of them" as Rosalie Aprile stated and that Angie has money on the street. Couple that with her failing spec home venture and still being dependant on Tony. Carm wants independence, status, and money. Will she have it in the end?

Meadow Meadow Meadow, what were you thinking? Say goodbye to your whimpy boyfriend cuz he just signed his death warrant by being the official rat who outted Vito. [I wont miss Finn anyway] I have been thinking that Meadow and Finn were headed for splitsville, she seems to be disinterested in him. and I sorta thought that there would be some sort of confrontation with him and Vito eventually, now it's even more of a possibility.

I see Christopher becoming more prevalent in upcoming episodes. More of his 12 step recovery is being shown, and Huh Ho Chrissy... what are you thinking? Having junkies on his crew and he's paying them in dope? Yikes!

Chris's Arab friends cane up again too, I am wondering where that's going. C'mon can they be that dumb? They are buying stolen credit cards and want weapons, how do terrorists work again?

All in all a good episode, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I may be way off, but I've been thinking Paulie would be the one to get into it with Vito. I read into Silvio's comment more in that direction when he said something along the lines to Tony...

"You don't even wanna hear Paulie Ton, he's gone completely mow mow on the subject."
