We had one day to prepare for the students and I worked a 10 hour shift that day. Our student information system data base is not available during the summer, so I've been having to do all the attendance on EXCEL spreadsheets. SUCKS! Now I know why no one will do summer school two years in a row. The assignment is getting better and the people I have to work with are very nice. It's over on July 28th, plus it's only 4 days a week. 2nd whine: My 23 year old son just bought a motorcycle. It is taking every bit of will power I have not to think of it as a "murder-cycle". That's what my high school driver's ed. teacher called them. Dear Lord, please keep him safe. Anyway, thanks for missing me, ladies! Big Hugs to you!

So why didn't I bother to put on sunscreen? Why does my brain work (or not work as the case may be) like this?

So now I have to worry about this all weekend long. I'm going to cry if I end up back in the classroom!

May *extra* angels surround him. *hugs* And pennyring, I hope your allergy meds kick in quick friend! How are your pups? You know I'm pretty sure that "overly obsessive about your dog" thread is still around here if you've got some braggin' that needs to be done.

I'll be thinking good thoughts for you. mele ~ I hope you had a good time at the lake and that you didn't get burned to bad... maybe one of the cabana boys in the mellow room could rub some nice cooling aloe vera on you.... And alexbook - I like ya man but I am sooooo jealous of you working "on-site" that I just can't see straight! LOL! (kidding! hope you don't have to pull to much hard labor this weekend.

I have never been so close to such a huge fire; it's unsettling. There are 3 or 4 DHS high school employees that live up in the fire area and have had to be evacuated. No news on their houses or property as of yet. We are not in any danger here in the Palm Springs area, the fire is heading the other way through the overgrown brush and the pine trees closer to the San Bernardino National Forest that are now dead from a beetle infestation. Those trees are like matchsticks waiting to light. God Bless the firefighters. They are true heroes.
