Or they can be surgically removed. Mine is technically small enough that it could pass on its own, and yet it hasn't. That happens in one out of ten "small enough" stones. As it hasn't been too terribly uncomfortable lately, I'm opting to wait for it to pass naturally rather than go through the very unpleasant surgery.

Don't despair, though, kidney stone dance fans. . . I was informed that I have at least one more stone lurking in one of my kidneys, so I shall be going through this whole wonderful process again at some undetermined future date. Yippee. (Oh, and about the pain. When the stone moves, it is by far the most excruciating pain I have ever felt, topping even labor pains and smashing my tailbone to many little pieces. The only times in my life I have ever vomited from pain have been with kidney stones. It is simply indescribable).

They saved spots for another co-worker, her husband, our boss and his wife (who didn't show up because he was sick). I understand that there were only ten spots at the table and my sister was with us (she works there too) but to not come over and talk to us was incredibly rude and mean. I guess I shouldn't have assumed I meant anything to them.

They're being saved for Debbie and her husband and those (the other two chairs) are being saved for Tim and his wife." Well, Tim went home sick that morning but they said he was coming anyway. He didn't so two chairs at their table were not used all evening. Now, there were three of us, but we easily could have put an additional person there. They didn't even offer to let us sit there until Debbie and her husband came. No one even apologized or said "but we'd love to meet your husband." Nope. Nothin'. But actually I hold no grudges and am not upset anymore. I didn't bring it up today at work although Lisa brought it up to someone who didn't go (Diane; she hates socializing with them and thinks they are back-stabbers.)

So, I'll call to see if they have valet parking. If so, I'll drive (allowing 2 hours each way). If not, that means riding BART (1.5 hours), and walking 4 blocks or finding a cab in the rain. Wish me luck on the shopping! I hate pressure shopping. Not only that, everything is sleeveless this year. Not only is it winter, I look awful in sleeveless.

For $36!! How happy was I? Oh yes very happy, add opaque tights and knee length boots et voila I am good to go.. Here's hoping you have the same sort of experience SuzieQ
