Are you implying that you'd rather Disney unleash the "restoration" team on these things? Perhaps they would do an alright job on the live action stuff, but their recent work with the animated features gives me pause

That said, I'm intrigued by the idea of the Archives releasing the films, rather than Consumer Products. Although they had some hiccups with D23 (also a branch of the Archives) early on, it seems like their head is in the right place, and they would give things the respect they deserve. They don't appear to be afraid of releasing something that's not as glitzy as modern releases, but they do take the care to ensure that it's high quality. It certainly has potential!

Oh that goodness. I just can't get enough of that kid from the Mickey Mouse Club. What was his name, Pop?

That was back in the day when all the movies Disney produced were good. ;/

Warner doesn't unleash a restoration team. They're basically raw warts-and-all transfers from the "best available sources". But that's a huge improvement over the "grab the most convenient videotape off the shelf" policy that appears to be the norm at Disney.

And Warner *does* at least remaster things that need it, and everything is always presented at the correct aspect ratio. Disney can't even get that much right.
