Yea, great composer/arranger except that every song he ever did sounds exactly the same as the previous one and as for lyrics...all I can say is "songs she sang to me, words she brang to me" and what about that one that has him talking to a chair and he seems upset that the chair isn't answering back.

With that said chalk me up for EVERYTHING Neal Diamond ever did, sang, wrote or even thought about writing. I know that will get me killed because ND fans are violently loyal. :)

Oh, and "I will always love you" sounds from the heart when Dollie sings it but anything but sincere when Whitney ruins it.

I like the Blues Brothers version better.

Didn't like it when it was released, but now I do. Not that I own a copy of it, but if it's on the radio, I don't tune to another station. :p

I always hated the song "I'm Kissing You" by Des'Ree or someone. It was so slow and interminable and pretty much unlistenable.

Recently for me, I really can't stand the Pink song "Dear Mr President". I'm not a Pink fan so I guess I'm biased, but I know a lot of Pink fans who also don't like this one. I wrote a whole rant in my blog about all the reasons this song annoys me. I could go on for days.

    This is for Lisann.

Just think Christopher was a "rock star" and had groupies.

    WORST of all time?

I have such a big collection of dreadful songs... But then, no one expects Jack Klugman to deliver You're So Vain all that well (from the album The Odd Couple Sings).

And Donny Most's album is full of clinkers, but no one has ever heard of them. (Larry Hovis, on the other hand, is quite good!)

I would nominate What is The Thing Called Amway from the album Sing Out for Free Enterprise. Here it is (I contributed this to the site):

LOL! I can just see you getting up from your dining room table, assaulting one of the Wilson brothers, and then sitting back down and finishing writing your check to Amnesty International!

FWIW, I like "Kokomo." And I don't even feel bad about it.

"C'mon Eileen," I love. And feel majorly guilty about loving it.

Actually, I opened this thread thinking it was referring to the radio story I heard this morning about the world's worst song lyrics award, or something along those lines. Sting & Carly Simon got the bulk of the honors, & I gotta say I concur. Post-Police Sting, especially? URGHHHH, gag me with a sitar.

    And, while thinking of Paul...

A whole bunch more, but worst of all...

    "Simply Having A Wonderful Christmas-Time"

Thanks for the link, DAR. I had my Christopher Cross moment when I saw him a few years ago with a few other artists doing a Beatles concert. He did sing Sailin', though I don't remember it being a Beatles tune, lol.
