I'm not sleeping on the sidewalk to catch some beads. I hit a few parades the week before Mardi Gras, but I head out of town before it gets nuts. Disney World during Mardi Gras is a sea of New Orleanians. As a whole, you can usually pick us out because were in either Mardi Gras or LSU t-shirts. I know this year there will be a sea of black and gold!

Ugh...HATE those people! <---crosses Mardi Gras in NOLA off bucket list <---heads to Tokyo Disneyland to sit on curb for 7 hours waiting for parade

The crowds are very manageable at many of the parades leading up to Mardi Gras day. I live within walking distance of the Metairie route and often walk down to enjoy a parade at the last minute.
