Even as a guest you may have the opportunity for private time in Disneyland. In the off season at some of the after hours corporate events, guests get to see the park vacant as well as they walk to their party locations. But they never soak it in, I think they feel as if they are seeing something Taboo or wrong that they shouldn't see. So for the most part they try and avoid all contact with Disneyland after closing.. LOL But if you ever have the chance to take that magic stroll, I hope you will take a few moments to breath in the magic of Walt's park, and thank him for touching so many lives with his imagination.<<< One of my favorite days ever was when I was 16 or 17. It was Presidents Day weekend; I think Saturday. It rained so much that nearly everyone left the park very early, including my parents. I believe the rain was unexpected. There was no line for anything in the park except Rocket Rods, which had a 20-30 minute wait instead of the usual 70 minute wait. They did not close the park early, and I stayed until the midnight closing. There were many many areas of the park where I would look in all directions and either see no other guests or very very few of them. It was SO magical to feel like I had Disneyland to myself. Really the feeling is indescribable. I did nearly every attraction in a matter of a few hours. I couldn't do Alice or Mad Tea Party as they close when it rains, but I did most or all of the others. I was soaked to the bone and loved every minute of it. The next day it rained again, but it didn't stop the crowds as much. This time it was expected, so everyone came prepared. As we were leaving to catch our plane, they announced that the park would close early due to inclement weather. I was grateful that they had kept the park open just for me (in my head anyway) the previous night, and felt a little bad for those who would be forced to leave early that night.

I love the music, the feeling that the outside world does not exist once you walk under the tunnel, the piano players, Dole Whips, Mary Poppins & Bert, the list could go on and on. It's just great visiting Uncle Walt's gift to us.

The cars had water in the seats, the Cast Members were freezing, and it was more a misty drizzle than heavy rain. The air was cold and foggy and heavy and silent. We'd get a group of 2 or 3, send them away, and then the silence would return. Those remaining at load would move all the other cars up so that our guests would have room to unload when they returned. Very surreal and strangely magical. (Note: most people never think about it, but Autopia is the one Attraction that cannot operate without Guests. Once you board, if there are not people boarding cars after you, you'll never make it back to the unload area, because all the other cars have to keep going to get out of your way. That's why you will always see a line at Autopia. They might be running only 1 of 4 lines with plenty of CMs to open more, but if there aren't enough people, they won't. They have to keep that line to make sure everyone can get off.) :O)
