We didn't We said there is nothing close in Disney parks(we have not seen the seas yet) that is close to potter's execution.. Fantasyland shops are nothing compared to potter ones. And fantasyland doesn't have a e ticket, potter has 2. Fantasyland has very nice grounds but overall the land is nowhere near as immersive as potter.

Originally Posted By RoadTrip <<Where did we say that universal is thumping Disney??? And fantasyland doesn't have a e ticket, potter has 2. >> The shops I will give you. We all know that Disney shops are way too generic. I don't find anything unusual about Fantasyland not having an "E"... as a land intended to be well-suited to young children, I really wouldn't expect an "E". And although I did not want to wait in the outrageously long standby line, everything I've read says that the Mine Train is a strong "D". I found the attention to detail in the Fantasyland Expansion just as good as that at Potterland. Your mileage may vary... again a matter of opinion and taste... perhaps influenced by being a Harry Potter fan. That, to me, is the main thing Universal has going for it with the Potter Lands... a hugely popular franchise with locations that fans already know and love.

But we aren't holding our breath because we bet there will still be generic/wdw wide junk for sale in the 2 to 3 shops

" Peculiar, so peculiar Critter country got splash mountain Fantasyland got Matterhorn and small world Carsland got racers Toontown got randy rabbit Sounds like you invented an excuse and we are not sure why you need to do that. Anyway with all the marketing, hype guests expected(early on in the campaign) a real attraction to anchor the land. Opening or in this case improving and expanding and ultimately relaunching a heavily themed and hyped land without an anchor(e ride) disappoints us. Kids deserve the "e" too.

For me and my clan that phenomena didn't apply. I lasted just 30 minutes into the first potter film and then bailed, definitely not my cup of wizard brew. The books? Nope, never. I read non-fiction not kid sorcery stuff. The rest of my clan knew very little about potter. No fans present. But shit hit the fan when we all apprapproached that hogcastle. Breathtaking achievement and the diagonal alley perhaps even cooler in detail and immersion. All in all we can't justify a $150 hopper pass to see both potter sections and a elaborate crazy themed train to connect for a second trip because universal goes from "A+" to a "C" once you get away from the potter stuff.
