Simon just hates him, so the others would have to REALLY want him, and there are enough talented people who just chose a bad song for them who should get the call instead.

I never thought he was all that, and I'd get mad when the judges always gushed over him! lol

Didn't see anything else that I thought was "memorable", other than the weird one, don't remember his name but you know who I mean. Really don't think this is his venue.

I thought that next Tues. they might have 12 people come back and we'd vote for 3 out of them, but this is what's described for Thurs. night's show.

I thought the blonde girl in the red dress sang well but was surprised that Simon didn't pull his "I could have seen that on a cruise ship" comment out. I really need to write down the names when I'm watching it don't I? Kid who kicked the microphone was fun to watch, the growling bothered me too. He seemed stunned that they didn't like it.

If so, it seems awfully weird that frontrunner Danny got to sing last a week ago (and was the top vote-getter) and frontrunner Adam gets to sing last this week. ... if Lil sings last next week, we're going to know the fix is in." Be that as it may - and I don't think she should be penalized for it, as it clearly wasn't her decision, and she's obviously one of the very best they've got - here's my take on last night's show. Von Smith - You're All I Need To Get By. Going first probably dooms him, but he did all he could to break that curse by giving one of the best performances of the night. Really smooth, always on pitch, great range, great tone, well performed. Only his somewhat earnest looks (which works for a balladeer like David Archuletta, but less for a blue-eyed soulster) held him back. I was happy the judges praised him so highly because even though I doubt he'll make it on votes, they ought to remember him for the wild card. Taylor Vaifanua - If I Ain't Got You. Not bad, but not "wow" enough to get through, especially going this early in the night. Kara was right - her personality didn't come through. Alex Wagner-Trugman - I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues. The first obvious "pack your bags" performance of the night. He looked 19 going on 12, and just not ready for this whole thing yet. And his growling did sound like a hamster trying to be a tiger, or whatever Simon said. Arianna Afsar - The Winner Takes It All. I liked her personality (cute as a button indeed), but what a disastrous song choice. WAY too mature a song for her. And then she tried to embellish it way too much. I wanted to like her when it started; I just couldn't when it finished. I felt bad for her - she seems very nice, and she just blew her big chance. Ju’Not Joyner - Hey There Delilah. Didn't like it as well as the judges, but he sang it well. He probably should have gone for even MORE stripped down, but still, he put himself in position to get plenty of votes. Kristen McNamara - Give Me One Reason. I was all set NOT to like her based on the recap of her they showed, but she surprised me. The song seemed a strange choice at first - I love Tracy Chapman, but the song has a very limited range - but she got around that problem by going a full octave above at points. I was surprised how much I liked her - she had some real grit. Simon was right that we don't quite now who she is, and that will probably hurt her. Nathaniel Marshall - I Would Do Anything For Love. Ugh. It's not that the guy can't sing. But he needs to realize that the whole headband and lip stud thing is going to kill him. And again, a song much too mature for an 18 year old. Felicia Barton - No One. This is the girl who got in when the other girl was declared ineligible, so I was very unfamiliar with her. And she made the most of her opportunity. The first half was better than the end, where the pitch went off a few times, but she made me sit up and take notice. Enough to get voted through? I'm guessing not, but outside chance for wild card. (It may be too tempting NOT to, since it will be another "on the brink of elimination" story). Scott MacIntyre - Mandolin Rain. As the judges said, the best thing about this guy IS his passion. He really seems to feel what he's singing, and that's important. Between sympathy votes for the blindness and votes based just on his talent, I'm going to guess he's the top male vote-getter. As Simon predicted. Kendall Beard - This One's For the Girls. A tough prediction. She sounded perfectly fine, but I think she's got a better chance than she otherwise would, because a). she went near the end, and b). she's the only real country singer I can remember. (Were there others in weeks one and two? If so, I don't remember them... which says something). And that's a big demographic who might vote her in. Jorge Nunez - Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me. Speaking of big demographics... the Latino vote combined with a fine performance (great tone) and genuine emotion he showed afterwards means HE could get an awful lot of votes... Lil Rounds - Be Without You. Easily the best of the night. She's ready to record NOW. She's also completely polished as a performer, good looking, confident, great range, knows who she is... the complete package. It would be a shock if she wasn't the top female vote-getter. So I figure she's in. (And if she's not, DEFINITE wild card). I think Scott is in. After that it's harder - this was the first week with quite a few good performances, so it's harder to pick. Jorge stands maybe the best chance, but Von (if people remembered him from the first position), Kristin, Ju'Not and Felicia all have a shot at that third spot. If there's any justice, this group will produce the most wild cards. I'm still not sure how the wild cards work, either...

Taylor - I wanted to like it but in the end, blech. Just not enough umph. Alex - bye bye, nothing there. Arianna - cute as a button but she blew the song selection. I doubt she'll get through. Ju'Nut(?) - He has the chops but I think due to the song he won't connect with the voters. I'd like to hear him again though. Kristen - Well I loathe her, she's like nails on a chalkboard for me. Irritates the blank out of me. Nathaniel - Whatever. He's working my nerves. Just please sing and stop the hamming it up, I'm so different stuff. Felicia - I think she stood out but some of her vocals were off. I wouldn't mind her making it through. I think with some polish she could be a good package. Scott - ok, call me mean but the whole Bruce Hornsby wanna-be style just isn't for me. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz! Plus though not something he's doing, he'll get votes for the "blind guy" thing. <rolling eyes> Kendall - yawn. Country isn't my thing unless it's really really good and she wasn't for me. Jorge - I hope he gets through but not in my top 3 or anything. I already commented on Lil!!!!!
