I'm always amazed how many people sing this song on AI, from the auditions to the final 12. It's got a limited range, and the only thing that makes it interesting vocally are all the trademarks tics and vocal tricks MJ throws in there. And if anyone else does them, it just sounds like imitating. Lil wisely didn't do them, and you're left with this fairly boring, un-rangey song. Scott MacIntire: Keep The Faith. This was the first week he kind of bored me. Mostly because he didn't connect with the lyric the way he has before, and that should have been a slam dunk given this lyric and his story. But it didn't happen. Nerves? Danny Gokey: PYT. He's just too geeky to pull off the dancing, but close your eyes and that was a very fine vocal. Michael Sarver: You Are Not Alone. He'll get by on charm and looks for a while. Oh, and did you know he works on an oil rig? Jasmine Murray: I'll Be There. Might have done enough to hang around, but the judges are right - she's not playing to her strengths. Kris Allen: Remember The Time. It was an odd choice to play (acoustic) guitar on. Vocal was okay, but I think he's vulnerable. Allison Iraheta: Given To Me. I have a weakness for rocker chicks, and I hope she stays around a while. Not that I think she'll win, but I like her, and you have a better chance for a career coming out of Idol if you finish 5th than if you finish 11th. She should have better staying power than last year's rocker chick, who always looked like she didn't really want to be there. Allison does. I like her. Anoop Desai: Beat It. What a horrible, horrible choice. Totally unfunky. I think Simon overdoes the "karaoke" comments sometimes, but in this case it was warranted. He might survive on residual good will, but barely. Jorge Nunez: Never Can Say Goodbye. Pretty much ditto my Anoop comments. Megan Corkrey: Rockin' Robin. Ugh! Almost as bad a choice as Beat It. The first judges remained strangely uncritical of her, but finally Simon got real and called it what it was - horrible. The biggest strength this girl has is her "alt" vibe, and Rockin' Robin ain't exactly alt. And there ARE MJ songs that are, or could have been. What a terrible choice. Adam Lambert: Black and White. Dang, this guy can sing. Most important, he finally got Simon, who had never warmed to his theatricality, on his side. Of course, not everything lends itself to that kind of theatricality, so he'll still have to watch it, but give the guy credit where credit it due - he was terrific. Matt Giraud: Human Nature. Too much falsetto at the end, but most of it was solid. He's a dark horse, but needs to show he can be exciting if he wants to win it all. Alexis Grace: Dirty Diana. Pretty good. She'll be around a while, but I also need to see a little more personality. Should go home: Anoop and Meghan. Will go home: I'm gonna say Kris (I just don't think he has much of a fan base to keep him safe) and maybe Jorge.

TX, word on the web today is that the judges will decide who leaves between the bottom vote getters...I just set my timer for tonight's show...I hope it doesn't run over again. I thought they were going to have the results show be half an hour this season. That hour is a real d-r-a-g.

I'm very anti-white pants. Scott-I listened to him more than I usually do. Still wondering why he has that hairstyle. I can't help it; I'm shallow. Anyway, after watching the entire show, he was bland, really bland and boring. Like ice milk vs. dulce de leche Haagen-daz. Danny-My first thought was this song was going to be totally slow. I'm glad it wasn't. Yeah, I guess he did well but it's not something I would listen to. Michael-He looks like a vampire in 'The Lost Boys' movie. I thought his performance was cheesy. (And he really works on an oil rig?! LOL) Jasmine-I'm not all that impressed with her but I think it's more because she's so young. She doesn't really connect with the audience like other contestants do. But she's is adorable and her family is adorable, too. Can't hate on her at all. I did just realize at the end that I can barely see her eyes. They need to ease off the make-up on her. It's hard to connect with someone when you can't see their eyes (at least on tv). Kris-We don't even remember this guy?! How is that possible? Tween chicks dig cute guys with guitars so he might be safe this week. I think I like this version of the song better than the original. LOL Allison-Well, her interview clip was a bit better than her interview w/Ryan last week. I really like her voice...amazing for a 16 year old. She's more authentic than Carly last season. Carly might have had tattoos but she couldn't wait to break out the Celine Dion. But what was that weird thing Allison did while Ryan was reading off her phone number. Anoop-Eh, I still would rather watch the show with him than not. LOL Jorge-Yuck. I hated that. Maybe if he sung it in Spanish? ;-) Megan- What the hell are the straps on her dress? Bread…spaghetti? I hate it when they exploit the fact that some contestants are parents. She's smart to shake her butt. How much did this suck? I really do not like her voice. Seriously, if I walked into a bar or club and this was playing, I would leave. Adam-I love that it's some sort of scandal that there are photos of Adam kissing a guy. Really? Is that much of a surprise? Time to get the gaydar fixed if it wasn't pinging like crazy while looking at this guy. ;-) I think he did a really great job. Note: Is Paula crying over Adam? Good gravy. Matt-I liked it well enough, I guess, for not liking the song or the genre. LOL Alexis-At least her hair wasn’t as helmetty, this week. She likes the slinky songs, doesn’t she? I like her a lot more than Megan. I am interested in watching what her career. I might like her a lot…although probably not as much as Allison.

Not that Alexis doesn't, and she's more polished and less vulnerable to an off night, but there's something very sweet and ingenuous about Allison). Michael and Matt sort of cancel each other too; Matt's the better singer, but Michael has that whole oil rig thing going for him...

So yes Meghan's version was great compared to my last experience with it!

Lil Rounds undoubtedly has a good voice, but she started off stiff and tentative, IMO. Adam Lambert did his own thing, and for me, it was the wrong thing. Again, I can see he's got talent, but his take was just too off-the-wall. Scott McIntyre was the last one I saw, and sorry, for me he is just boring.

Anoop - Wow Danny - Good Enough Matt - Very Nice Megan - Incredible Scott - Good Enough Just okay to me Alexis - Expected more Lil - Expected more too Unsure - Allison - Missed Kris - Don't even remember.. Michael - Missed Hated Adam What really annoyed me tonight was Paula telling Scott he needed to get away from the Piano, but not telling Matt the same thing. I agree being behind the piano always may not be the best - but they both seem very comfortable there... I did like when Simon started naming off "idols" who always sit behind a piano...

Some of those notes he hits makes me just say Wow, but all in all a very strange performance. I thought Scott and Michael were the weakest last night and it should be one of them that goes home tonight.
