I can't watch him sing, his jaw goes in one direction, his lips in another and his eyes in another. Drives me crazy. I think he has a sweet voice but he's not winning this thing. Megan - My ears! My ears! My ears! See people do you really think she could carry a whole CD? Ain't no way, no how. She's gone. Anoop - It was ok, not great, but it'll keep him in it for a bit longer. He won't win this. He's not in the elite group. Michael - Time to go home. Lil - Disappointing but like Simon said I get what she was going for but Heatwave has never been a fav of mine. Even Martha sounded like she was yelling in the 60's. There was so much material from her to chose from for her to knock it out of the park. She better come through next week or she's in trouble cause this year the guys RULE. And with that I LOVE her but I'm getting worried. Adam - I like Adam, I wasn't thrilled with Reign of Fire but I think he has unbelievable chops and he gave me goosebumps!!! Outstanding. Danny - Danny Boy is starting to work my nerves with the frenzied performances. I think he's borderline yelling. I like him, love his voice but I don't know I'm not feeling what the judges are feeling. I need to be wow'ed again. Allison - This girl is amazing. She is Tina Turner, Etta James, Darlene Love, Gladys Knight wrapped up in a Latina body. She's the darkhorse. If she goes before Michael, Megan, Anoop or Scott it's a sin. And unforgiveable sin of the voters.

Started strong - nice soulful feel, nice chord substitutions on the piano... when he first stood up and started away from the piano it sagged-- a little too "uh-oh, white boy trying to sing Marvin alert." But about 2/3 of the way through he got better and did a good Timberlake-y take on it. It's always tough going first, but he should be safe. Kris: How Sweet It Is. Actually liked it better than Matt's. I don't think he can win, but he's a fine singer and gaining in stage presence. Kara was right; it wasn't Marvin and it wasn't James Taylor, i.e. he "made it his own." Scott: You Can't Hurry Love. I know he tried to "mix it up" by picking something more uptempo, but it was not a good song choice, and he blanded it out. He's just sort of homogenizing everything lately, and though there were a couple of worse performances, I don't see him lasting too much longer unless he starts showing the heart he did in the semi-finals. Megan: For Once In My Life. I did mention worse performances, right? Exhibit A right here. Ouch, that was painful. The one strength this girl has, to my mind, is her "alt-rock boho chick" vibe, and she went all Vegas on this number, which is the very antithesis of "alt-rock boho chick." The judges, who used to be surprisingly kind to her (IMO) let her have it, and rightly so. Even smitten-by-her-looks Simon seems no longer smitten and said she was in trouble. After butchering Patsy C. and Stevie W. two weeks in a row, she ought to be. Anoop: Ooh Baby Baby. Liked it better than last week from Anoop (which I thought was good, but overpraised). He sang this really well, and like Kris, though I don't think he can win, he can certainly last a while longer. Michael: Ain't Too Proud to Beg. I didn't think it was as awful as the judges did, but it was certainly not among the stronger performances. Megan probably saved his butt for now, unless the male/female ratio at this point means that with fewer women left, they get more votes each as a result. Lil: Heatwave. Perfectly fine, but not the best song choice, for the reason the judges gave - no room to stretch out and really show what she can do. With all that material to choose from that's right in her wheelhouse, this should have been a week Lil absolutely slayed us, and she didn't. I'm sure she's safe, but it was a big missed opportunity, and she needs to slay us again soon. Adam: Tracks of My Tears. Whoa. First of all, the look - did anyone else get "channeling Kurt Russell channeling Elvis" from that? Now the performance: fantastic. So smart to do it stripped down like that, and he just imbued it with that indefinable SOMETHING that transcended even his obviously fine voice. One of those Idol moments that was not only terrific, but memorable. What's particularly key for him is that he just showed he isn't all about (only) being the big-voice rock star a la Axel Rose or Freddy Mercury; he can do this sort of stripped down thing and be just as effective. Danny: Get Ready. Another solid performance, though not quite in the top tier tonight. I still love the huskiness of his voice. He may need to demonstrate a little more variety soon, but he's top four almost for sure. Allison: Papa was a Rolling Stone. Nice! Gave Adam a run for his money, actually. Unbelievably sultriness in that voice for someone so young. And she can work a stage. She was bottom three last week after a perfectly fine performance, which means she has yet to develop an adequate fan base, but she probably went a long way towards establishing one last night. I love this girl. And, like Jordin Sparks a couple of seasons ago, the fact that she will remain young for a long time to come probably has record execs salivating right now, no matter how she comes out of this.

Kris: How Sweet It Is. - He is really growing on me. While he wasn't in the top performances, I think he was upper middle. I think he will stick around for a while. Scott: You Can't Hurry Love. - I didn't care for this at all and think he could be in real trouble. I think maybe him being a nice guy with a great story will probably save him again this week. Mehgan: For Once In My Life. - What can I say, she looked beautiful. That is about all nice I have to say about that. I think she is in real trouble. Anoop: Ooh Baby Baby. - Good performance. He has a nice voice, but for me he is just missing that x factor. Michael: Ain't Too Proud to Beg. - I was begging for him to stop. He seems like such a nice guy and a Texan so I wanted him to do well, but I think it is time for him to go home. Lil: Heatwave. - Good performance, but I expected more this week. It just sounded like she was rushing and out of breath. Adam: Tracks of My Tears. - I was very impressed. To be dressed like that and deliver that performance was very moving. I am even a bigger fan now. Danny: Get Ready. - Still one of my favs. Solid performance, but not his best. Allison: Papa was a Rolling Stone. - She suprised me last night. That was wonderful. It is amazing how young she is. She was a close second to Adam last night. Bottom three: Scott, Michael, and Mehgan Going home: Michael

If Allison goes home or ends up in the bottom 3 I'll be disgusted. She deserves a Top 5 at least for me.

To me, it was like watching a Timberlake impersonator in a Las Vegas casino afternoon review show that everyone can get 2-for-1 tickets to. Sorry. Trying to sound just like Justin instead of Marvin does not equal putting your own mark on a song. <<Adam: Tracks of My Tears. Whoa. As we were watching the performance it's exactly what I said and my daughter said "oh, mother", knowing I'm a Kurt Russell fanatic! I had to google a photo of Kurt from that movie where he played Elvis to show her - and she said he "kinda" looked like Kurt. LOL I can't believe Megan wasn't in the bottom three, but know that America doesn't always vote they way you want them to!
