Another thing to be concerned about is the conservative and Christian elements voting for Chris to keep a "freak" like Adam from winning at any cost. If it really does come down to talent, Adam will win by a mile. But I'm betting a lot of people are afraid of him, and Chris is the safer bet by far.

I wondered about that too.....I know someone like that who won't be watching next week because of it.....That makes me cringe and so not want to be her friend.

One has to wonder just how Kris's wife views all of this - her life is changed forever also.

    p.s. the wife is cute

However, this week, Danny's goodbye song did bring a tear to my eye. And I did feel like Adam was coasting this week.

Also, I loved the kid from Rwanda!

It is the best series of Idol so far IMHO.

LOL! Thanks for the reassurance, DAR!

For this reason, next week I will cast my first American Idol vote ever.

I have never voted before but to see someone denied a vote simply because he is (or might be) gay??? That is sooo wrong and, dare I say, bigoted?

So hopefully my one vote will cancel out a narrow minded vote....LOL

And I agree - voting for Kris just because a person is threatened by the very different Adam is incredibly small minded. That said, AI has always been something of a popularity contest. It's really gonna be interesting to see how the vote goes.

It would all be way complicated for me. Do I do the "identity politics" thing [which I hate] and vote for Adam just because he's (perceieved) gay? Or do I do the apolitical thing [not vote] and let the consersative Christians overrun the voting?

Fortunately, I think Adam is the better contestant. I'll vote for him with no reservations.

Hopefully AI season won't have to get political like the Miss America contest has gotten itself into. We have enough of that nonsense in everyday politics in this country -

I will be very disappointed if he loses as they really need to pick someone who truly would represent AI....and a potential pop/rock star

We don't need another Taylor Hicks...( that ought to set a few poeple off --LOL ! )

I did not vote last week as I enjoyed all three performances and was sad to see any of the three go home as I think this year has been a lot more talented in the past. I have voted for Adam at certain times this year as I have voted for Kris, Danny, and Allison. It has really depended on if the performance moved me to vote for them. If Adam goes out tonight and really wows me (which I can totally see happening) then I will call in and vote for him, and if Kris does, I will call and vote for him. At this point I like both performers and will be happy with whoever wins. What I would hate to happen is that if Kris wins, everybody says it is just because all the radical Christians went and voted for him so Adam wouldn't win. I think that would not be fair to him as I think he is very talented too.

What I think about before I vote is how the singer has done for the whole season. How consistent are they, have they grown as an artist, can they sing different genres, how do they sound when I look away from the TV, would I buy their CD, is their personality something that appeals to me or do they turn me off.

This is a singing competition and the best singer should win, IMO.

    Let the night begin!!!

If your fave doesn't win, remember that sometimes it's better to come in second. 19 Entertainment doesn't have as much control, IIRC, over #2 as it does over the eventual winner. Not that it's necessarily a bad thing to have their hitmaking machine behind you, but there are questions of artistic control.

BTW, Melinda Doolittle's new album is excellent.
