Having said that, the glimpses I have caught all season long left be a fan of both Adam and Danny. Last two nights, I saw why Kris was there in the finals. All in all, a super entertaining evening and I loved Lil and the Queen. Oh, my gosh, they rocked it. Seeing Adam with Queen and KISS...what a natural fit. Based on the performances last night, and admitting a slight (okay, huge) bias against country music, I did enjoy Kris with Keith Urban, but Adam OWNED the night. Good thing is, if that restrictive AI contract is still being used, Adam may just have been given the greatest gift in not having won last night. I have no worries for him; his career is going to be stratospheric. And good luck to Kris. He, too, is destined for an excellent career. He seems like a really nice guy, and he can sing, too! (But Adam, you had my vote! xoxo)

You know she really owned that performance and made it her own. And how great was it to see Norman again. Not the greatest singer, but oh so entertaining! I guess our 10 votes for Adam didn't compare at all to the 2000 votes my Mom put up for Kris. I guess it is my fault he lost. I think this just gives Adam more freedom to be the artist he wants to be. I too thought it wasn't cool of Simon to remain sitting when EVERYONE else was giving Kris a standing ovation. His comments about really meaning it didn't really bother me as I just took it that he felt like he had to say that every year for the final two, but that these two were much more talented than in years past. I hope Simon stays as generally he is the judge I agree with the most although he puts things a lot more blunter than I ever would.

We checked the internet, saw who won. Agreed it was best for both Chris and Adam and went to bed. Sounds like we missed a good show

I have no idea if this made a difference in the voting; my hunch is that Kris, never having been in the bottom 3, has plenty of fans on his own, and they simply burned up the phone lines. I also think that Adam may be better off not having won, and that Kris is better off having won, so kind of a win-win for the two of them. So I really can't complain too much. As for the rest of the show... Lil finally sounded like we expected her to sound from the beginning, and Queen Latifa... what can I say? She's great. I don't know what was wrong with Allison, but she has sounded much better many times before. Danny sounded great, but I was sorry about who they paired him with. Sorry, DAR, I know you love him, but when I hear "Lionel," I can't help but think of "train." As in, "won't somebody please tie that man to the tracks and put him out of my misery?" Sorry, but there's just something about the guy that always rubbed me the wrong way. That wasn't my favorite Black Eyed Peas songs, but I do like them generally. It was kind of petty of Simon to not stand up for Kris at the end. Rod Stewart. Holy moly. Look, the guy's getting up there, and that of course happens to everyone, and there's nothing wrong with that. UNLESS you insist on singing a song that's specifically about being a college-age kid with an older woman. And then compound the sin by wearing a jacket that a guy at a Shriner's convention would reject as over-the-top. Best song of the night for me was the final one with Queen. Canny choice to pick We Are The Champions - not only is the lyric an obvious one for the final two, but the verse is broken into two equal halves, with the second half pitched up a fourth from the first - perfect for Kris and Adam. And Adam showed here (and all night, but especially here) why he'll be just fine.

I thought Kris was outstanding with Keith Urban and you could not tell who was the pro and who wasn't. He held his own and more. Adam is outstanding vocally but his genre is not my cup of tea so there were many nights that while I could admire his talent, I'd never buy his music in the long run. So I think they both one and I think Idol did a great job of saluting them both through out the night. I thought the performance other than Stewart and birdgirl with Steve Martin were all great.
