Thats a sad sign of the times. Disney as now become so dependent on the charecters that people assume if their aren't any charecters its not related to disney, and disney did all this by ocnstanyly building rides themed around the charecters

A family that I used to babysit for went to WDW, with MK for the first day of a long vacation. It was hot, crowded, and really just not worth the 13 hour drive down there. The kids hated it, and at the end of the day they told their parents that they just wanted to go home. The parents got clever and convinced their kids that they weren't going to go to Disney the next day, but they would be at Epcot instead. After that, they gradually worked their way back in with DAK and MGM (at the time), and eventually got back to MK, where they had a great time at the end of the trip. They just needed some time to get used to the idea of how theme parks work and what that means for their poor little feetsies.

Yes, I realize that they knew better and were just doing it as a trick, but there are tons of people out there who fully believe that Epcot is completely seperate from the rest of WDW. I don't know how those people don't realize it when their Disney ticket works there, but not Universal or Sea World, but then again there are a lot of really clueless people in the world.

(To be fair, she has secondary progressive MS and gets things mixed up a lot and also thinks the new booster seat law in WA means that kids have to be in carseats until they are 16, so I can give her some leeway)

They don't need to do this. They already have the Reedy Creek Improvement District.

Well, I had a very nice conversation with a woman who doggedly insisted that she and her sister had spent a wonderful day at Disneyland the Summer of 1954. She KNEW it for a fact, because her sister was 12 that Summer, and they celebrated by going to Disneyland and riding the Matterhorn as many times as they wanted.

After the third unsuccessful attempt to set the record straight, I simply murmured, "What a lovely memory," and went on my way.

Now, if we were dealing a court case where the timing of things was critical, THEN it would be important to point out that a memory was a faulty one. "Sorry, you couldn't have conceived your child on ATIS in August of 1986 because the attraction was gone by then... er, uh, the Disneyland attraction... not necessarily the attraction between the two of you."
