I always thought the WMD excuse was BS anyway and those who wanted to go to war should have said straight up "Saddam and Bin Laden are the bad guys, we want them dead and we're going to war to make that happen".

I know for me, the journey from being for the war based on what we had been told to being against it as the truth became known was a depressing one. I think it badly damaged our credibility and that we have to never again repeat such an error. It's relevant now because some are eager to attack Iran.

Five years ago. Five freaking years ago. To read it, you've really got to want to punish yourself, but it's instructive in case anyone is wondering why my vitriol for Dougie Boy was instantaneous when he first re-appeared in this thread, and others then followed suit. We thought we were finally rid of his crap, polluting and disrupting this place, but his need for attention from people he's never met was too great and so he popped up in this thread, knowing full well he'd aggravate people. Because again, if we were to believe him, he's extremely concerned people he's never met are "lying" about him. Apparently, this anonymous "lying" is going to somehow reflect upon his real self, away from here, assuming he even has an "away from here", which with each passing post of his seems less likely.

I doubt you're a Tosh.0 watcher, SPP, but your post above made me think of a "Viewer Video of the Week" that recently aired. In it, there's a (presumably) husband and wife and he's about to go to work. She tells him he can't go until he guesses what's different about her. So he takes NUMEROUS guesses, and things are getting more heated as he tries to leave and she refuses to let him past, telling him me MUST guess what's different. After a good half minute to a minute of this escalating, he finally guesses that she's pregnant, and she confirms, then the skit ends as he makes a comment to the effect of "Lord help me." This may not sound very funny since I'm not a comedian and my telling is rather dry, but trust me - it was HIlarious! Ok, that's all. Oh, and just for good measure: Please stop lying about me. Damn, I shouldn't have smiled, should I? Rats... hard for me to pretend to be a total jerkwad.

In fact, it's rather disturbing to read that thread 5 years later considering the massive number of deaths due to that war started by our country....based on lies.

This is how they talk. Unlike on talk radio, however, they don't get to control the debate, so they cry about how mean "libs" are.
