There are some flaws in the show aspect of the ride. Having said that, I prefer it to ToT and Splash. It's an E-ticket for me, even with its warts. (FYI and FWIW, I have only experienced the DCA Soarin'.)

DL did see less people then it would have when WDW opened. Soarin' is slightly less of a draw now for DCA since it is available on the East Coast. That was my contention. While minor, it is true. I don't have a problem with clones. I have a problem when old attractions are cloned to support an entire park. This is not one of those cases.

Originally Posted By RoadTrip <<Then why are you here, RT? Honestly. Soarin' Over California is first and foremost about being airborne and while being up there we get to see the splendors of California be it topographical sights(mountains and deserts), outdoor recreation(golfing, surfing, white water rafting, horse riding) or man made things(LA traffic, Disneyland, F-16's). The Land Pavilion at EPCOT however, is about the physical terrain(deserts, mountains, rain forests ect.), weather, and agricultue/soils/dirt--- in short, the natural environment. Again, aircraft carriers, golf balls, jet fighters/helicopters, Sleeping Beauty's Castle do not belong in The Land pavilion. They are grossly misplaced. So looking to bridge the overt differences or reconcile between the two themes of "California flight" (DCA) and "land" (EPCOT) Disney simply drops the "Over California" part from the attraction name and replaces pictures of aviation with pictures of natural settings--- a quick fix! The result: still a fine and fun attraction with a very high popularity but at its core most insulting.>> I certainly don't mind people saying that they like or dislike attractions, and giving their reasons why. THAT is why I’m here. But I thought that particular post was WAY over the edge. You may want to give that level of analysis to some things, but to a freaking Disney attraction? My God... get a life. JMHO.... As for being better than others, of course I am. I live in Minnesota. ;-)

I don't agree with Disney shutting WofL down, so I thing Disney sucks all the time? That's a leap that I never said and don't begin to believe. I have no problem with Disney closing things and updating them. I have a huge problem with them closing an area and then doing nothing with it, expecially an area that has such incredible attractions as Cranium Command and Body Wars (yes, I LOVE Body Wars!). I mean, they're just SITTING THERE, collecting dust, when they could be providing enjoyment to thousands of folks annually. So it costs Disney to run the stuff. Everything doesn't have to be a profit center on its own. It was quirky small things that made no money but provided great enjoyment that made Disneyland what it was in the first place.

Now if Disney did have something in place for WoL and ready to go with it I wouldn't shed a tear. WoL dated faster, in my eyes, than any other pavilion.

To me, if you're on a Disney theme park site, and discussing Disney theme park rides, where do you get off telling someone they should 'get a life.' Are we not here to discuss the minutae of Disney theme park attractions? And if you strip it all away, isn't it all kind of ridiculous?

(but you missed the joke as usual) I'd take Nemo and Soarin Over CA over M:S anytime. >>Nah - so few people are so lucky!<< The only one I can think of is Labuda...the rest? meh! >>Can I tell you something, RoadTrip? In my other hobby (model railroading) we refer to people like that as 'rivet counters'. There are so obsessed with the model EXACTLY duplicating the prototype that they lose sight of everything else. I think that is extreme. I also think the post I referenced is extreme. If you think my post was 'poor form' that is certainly your right. I think MANY posts here are 'poor form'. I'm just polite enough to not mention it.
