That's a nice thought, but nowhere are these rules and regulations posted for people to learn from. And yes, there are many places where seating is assigned. But whenever I go to a movie, I just go for the seat that has the best view. Someone already conceded that a large majority of the center of the row sitters are foreigners. Now, are they rude foreigners, or are they people who don't understand the words coming over the speakers? And yes, again, there are many rude folks who just plop down wherever they want. My only point is that there's no guarantee when you're stomping on people's feet that they are even aware that they're doing anything wrong.

Yes, you're right about this. This applies to the shirt thing, smoking, and a few other policies such as seating areas vs. standing areas for shows or parades. Every CM is responsible to ensure that these policies are followed, not just Security.

I had a very ugly guest experience on New Year's Eve while CrossU-ing at the front of Epcot. A large (6ft2in/300 lb) guest became very angry, loud and threatening after I stopped him from walking in front of the moving tram. To be frank, I was concerned for my safety, seriously contemplating what would happen if he hit me (I'm only 100 lbs). I think many CMs aren't willing to risk an ugly encounter with an abrasive and confrontational guest.

My job requires me to occasionally confront people with less then "stable" personalities. It is scary but so far 100% of them have backed down. All I will need is a fraction of that to get violent and I will surely change my opinion of how easy it is to be in control. For the time being, however, I boldly go were most men dare not tread. Ignorance is such bliss!

I understand this mentality, but unfortunately that just adds to the problem. While I would never want to see a CM abused or injured by some idiot guest, I hate the fact that people can get away with literally almost anything at WDW these days.

That's why you need security, real security that deals with violent guests quickly or difuses a situation so it doesn't become violent. Those 72-year-old retired cops from Pittsburgh working now at WDW just aren't gonna cut it with a belligerent guest let alone a potential terrorist.

But the only thing that bothers me, is the show sets you up to see a concert, but Donald getst he hat, Mickey gets it back and it ends. Where is the concert?

My sister has a funny one... she flashes her drivers license real quick and says "disney undercover security, I'm going to have to ask you to relocate to a smoking area". It usually works and gives us a good chuckle too.

Yes, that is true...and yet, since the smoking policy started at WDW, I have only witnessed 2 non security CMs who have actually told offending guests to please smoke in "Smoking areas". That's not a good track record...

You should stop by whatever attraction I might get stuck as Pavilion Greeter for, it happens 10 to 15 times a day.

I also make sure all my Trainees do it as well, if i ever see them not stop i smoker i remind them, that it is just as much a part of their role to do so.
