He entertains at the bar in Port Orleans Riverside (piano and singing). Corny, but a hell of a lot of fun. Gets everyone involved.

    "And why skip Disneyquest?"

Seemed outdated and kind of dull to me. But if it's already part of your pass, no harm in checking it out.

    "Yay someone who agrees lol."

My last three trips have been in early December. Low crowds and all the great Christmas stuff.

I do too...that is why I am always the dork with a hat and parasol and 50 SPF sunscreen everywhere I go :)

The first and most common way is that you book a "room-only" package; it has all the same special requirements as any other package and is booked through the Walt Disney Travel Company. The other option is to book directly with the hotel/WDW for just the hotel room; this reservation functions the same way as any regular hotel reservation. While I don't know the full details of it, there are other websites completely devoted to these sorts of differences. The best one I've found is AllEars Net:

If you're concerned about booking a package vs separate room and tickets, etc., you should consider getting help from a travel agent. Mouse Ear Vacations sponsors the LP Podcast (and occasionally run specials that way, though rarely), and have gotten great reviews from the podcasters. They don't cost anything extra, but they do know the ins and outs of the WDW system and can find the best option for your family. If a special becomes available that lowers the price, they'll automatically have it applied without you having to worry about it. Since it doesn't cost anything extra, and they know the system very well, I'd definitely look into it
