Brian's mother was diagnosed with carcinoid cancer 3 years ago. It's not a well known cancer and usually effects the gastrinalintestinal system. It is slow growing and hard to diagnose. Some people live for years with this form of cancer and it does baffle doctors because it usually isn't found until they go in to do other work to find out why a patient is in pain. After talkiing to her Dr. she probably had been living with this for 15 yrs. before being diagnosed correctly after a gall bladder surgery. She had been fighting this really hard since diagnosed and had some of her small intestine and colon removed. Chemo isn't effective but combination drugs can help. She had been in and out of the hospital more frequently since Nov. 2006. She was on a feeding tube and constantly nauseous. The first week of April, she decided she couldn't live with the pain and suffering anymore. A hard decision for anyone to make. We knew she was ready and supported her as she went to our father for everlasting life.

Thank you all again for remembering us. I am very lucky to be a part of this community.
