Fortunately for me, my MIL and SIL get along well with my parents so they are included in everything we do.....holidays, parties, vacations, etc. In a way, its a good thing because we don't have to choose who's family we'll spend whatever event with because we all do it together.

On the other hand....sometimes too much togetherness is a little, well, too much!! What I would suggest to you is that when you all eventually make it down to DL, don't schedule every single meal together. For one, it's hard to get in somewhere with a big group (unless you get PS) and just a total PITA trying to decide where to eat to make everyone happy. Maybe do a couple meals together and then let the rest just go with the flow. I found that some of my most relaxed moments on our trip were when it was just my DH and our 2 boys.

Try not to let family dynamics get to you and just enjoy your trip!!!

By the way, even if it is a year away, I can't wait to read your trip posting!!!!!! LOL

It wasn't horrible and it was very convenient esp. with our young children. This time, we had our own room, not adjoining to anyone, and I didn't think I'd feel this way, but it was really nice to go back to our room and just be by ourselves.

Where on earth are you flying from? I love DL as much as WDW, but given a choice with a huge family group...

atink fan...I've already booked our hotel room, and I said NOTHING about adjoining rooms. I'm not really sure when they all plan on arriving, or when they plan to leave, so they're on their own as far as reservations go. I have told them we're at the BWPPI. I gave them a list of hotels that are within walking distance, and have told them that they will want to make sure the hotel can accommodate RV parking. So, we may or may not be in the same hotel.

Also, I have only planned on one "family dining experience", and that would be DH's birthday dinner at Goofy's.

My family has already said that they have no intention of being in the park for the whole day, and plan on going to the hotel during the day, and have even asked about going to Hollywood. I'm not going to plan our day around meal times, and everyone else's different tastes. With myself, DH and DD, we eat when we get hungry, and we eat whatever happens to be within smelling distance.

We haven't really discussed the trip with the rest of the family since we booked our trip. DH says that we're now "out of the loop" since we refused to do the RV thing. There was a time not too long ago when that would have really bothered me. I find myself being quite relieved right now.

I'm looking foreward to my trip report as well...should be a real winner.

Have a great time and have an even better time looking forward to your trip! You guys will have a blast!! :)
